Hello,

I kinda have a question. Well, reassurance, and encouragements.

1). My symptoms are getting worse. Im on week 4 of doxy, and the cowden protocol. (Im thinking it's a herx) what do you think?

Explanation:

Right now I am experiencing leg pain from the hip down. Sometimes it's like fire, other times it feels like a billion little warms are eating away at my muscles/bones.

My eyes are burning and a bit red, with pressure pain.

Also, my cheeks are flushed and burning. Is this a herx? Or doxy.

Also,
Im 25 days in. The pain is worsening and starting to get to me. Mentally/physically.

I guess I need some encouragement. I know Im moving forward. But I am mentally exhausted.

Im on oral doxy, 100mg 2xs a day.

My physician did this because I am so late being diagnosed, we didn't know how I would react. (I am in a fragile state physically.)

Im hoping that this is going to clear up soon.

Anyone here completely healed?

I go see a LLMD today.

Thank you in advance for your input.

I think it's not a herx... Let me to explain this... this dose is too low and it's impossible to get a good MIC...

If you want to take doxy or mino, you need a bactericida action and you only can get it with higer doses...200mg doxy 2x day minimum...

Don't take anything is better than take 200mg doxy per day.

Is your doctor a llmd? He should know it but if he's a western doctor he take right the idsa guidellines...

Talk it with your doctor, doxy 200mg 2x day but if you take less than 400mg per day, you'll only shake the spirochetes to move to other tissues and make more damage.

SickKitty,

I've had many of those symptoms, including burning all kinds of places and red, burning cheeks for YEARS. I've never been on doxy, so it definitely wasn't a drug side effect for me. When people start treatment with either abx or herbs, they often get new symptoms they never had before in addition to worsening symptoms. It's my understanding that's all common for what most of us think of as herxing.

Coinfection symptoms can also start coming out. Just keep track of what they are, so you can connect the dots as you go along.

We're all here. Keep reaching out.

I always got pain from the hips down, especially when it was my period. I now believe bartonella was the cause.

I attribute my dry eyes, eye pain, and body pain to bartonella.

Thank you so much for your reply. I'll def ask my treating physician about the dosage.

My natropath put me on a low dosage because I am chronic, without any prior treatment. My system is so overloaded with the darn things, that starting out low would less likely kill me.

I confirmed with a highly rated llmd that people out of country travel to see. I showed them my protocol, they fully hands on gave me a physical, and said that believed that the treatment is a step in the right direction along with the cowden protocol. BUT, after that treatment, I would slowly be worked up to high dosages, and most likely a Picline, with suppliments. They also gave me more things to help support the protocol.

More tests are also being done, and more testing for co-infections soon.

Thank you so much for your reply. I've had the burning and flushing face since I was about 14 yrs old. I have no idea when I contracted Lyme. Just talking helps sometimes.

I have a really high pain tolerance. My mind tends to block out the pain of sicknesses. If I'm down, it's really bad. (I mean shoot, it took me 72 hours of laboring at home, with no sleep before I went to the hospital. Lol)

I'm kinda stubborn and just keep going. Lol

But this has stopped me in my tracks. I mean, like a brick wall punching me, then body slamming me, then just leaving me burried while adding weight. I'm crawling at times, and others, I'm able to run-limping.

It seems like my symptoms are always worse on my period. But I am not in my period right now.

I have those symptoms too.
