TMI WARNING!!!!

I'm feeling super sick today. Woke up with belching and nausea and then started going to the bathroom. The bowel movements kept coming until they were loose and then diarrhea. I haven't had diarrhea like this since before I got IBS-C in Sep 2015. Not even when I had a colonoscopy was it like this. After all the bowel movements, then I threw up in the trash can. I couldn't believe how much stuff I vomited considering the last I ate. I ate lunch really late yesterday so didn't eat supper except an apple and a little cereal. I haven't eaten anything today except a few saltine crackers trying to curb the nausea.

Major TMI ⚠️

While throwing up, I could feel chunks of stuff and something round like a little ball. There was also thick, stringy, mucous stuff kind of greenish. How in the world could all of that have been in my upper tract with as little as I've eaten in the last 12-16 hours?

I have not taken any of my supplements or herbs yet. Only water and saltines. I want to take some berberine by itself. It's pretty clear there's something in there my body wants OUT!!! I don't know if it's food poisoning, stomach virus, or Lord knows what. My lunch yesterday was from a Mexican restaurant I'd never been to before. Online reviews were good and nothing funny about the food. I'm not normally sensitive to Mexican. Plus, if it was food poisoning or even a virus, I would have expected to feel much sicker much quicker. I've looked at my face in the mirror several times this morning, but I didn't look green or pasty or anything.

It's not over yet. My intestines are tightening up again. I want this over!!!!! I have a doctors appointment today in 4.5 hours. I don't know if I'm going to make it. I just want this to stop so I can eat. I'm feeling weak now.

What can I do to replenish fluids besides water or Gatorade?

It really sounds like food poisoning to me. It is horrible. Hubby had it on a vacation.

Room temp liquids and if you can do ginger tea, that may help. But, the best is just to get all that "stuff" out of you and you seem to be doing that.

No herbs until this settles down.

So sorry, I know how miserable this is.

Sounds like food poisoning to me too. I had it in the fall, I really rushed getting back to taking my herbs as soon as I could and I think it took me much longer to recover as a result so do take your time to let your gut recover if you can.

Are you already on a break for your SIBO test?

Usually food poisoning is just 24 hours but some can take several days to clear. I hope you're recovered soon.

Take care WalkingbyFaith.

For replenishing fluids, you could try Pedialyte. I recommend the unflavored one, to avoid additives like artificial sweeteners, dyes, and flavors.

I'm really sorry to hear you're so sick. I hope this quickly passes and you feel better soon!

Hey guys! Thanks so much for checking on me. I am feeling better, and I did make it to my doctor appointment yesterday. It was a follow up with my PCP. I told him what happened yesterday and showed him the pictures I took. He thought it was a stomach virus due to the diarrhea first and then vomiting. It honestly did not feel like a stomach virus (or food poisoning) to me. I didn't feel weak or wiped out or anything like that afterwards. I actually felt better except I had "silent reflux" symptoms (throat, mouth, and sinus irritation) and some occasional intense pain in the upper abdomen that he said was gastritis caused by the vomiting.

I didn't eat anything yesterday except some saltine crackers and had some vegetable broth and aloe juice. Today I drank the same thing and ate some goat kefir with blueberries.

(Another TMI WARNINGsmile

Strangely, my gut was not cleaned out. The last BM following brown liquid looked like dregs of seaweed or something. Looked like some of the pictures I've seen on the internet claiming to be Candida in stool. The vomit was even stranger. A very large volume considering how long it had been since eating and how little I had last eaten. It did not look like any vomit I had ever seen. It had thick, stringy greenish stuff in it that looked like algae or something.

I did take berberine once yesterday and took a dose this morning combined with Bidens and licorice. No other herbs/supplements yet. I actually feel better than I thought I would not taking them.

Something is still wrong in my gut, though. I can still feel the old tightness and constriction in my lower intestines. I'd give anything to know what it is from and how to permanently get rid of it. I feel like if I fixed my gut, I'd have a much easier time fixing everything else. Truth is my gut was really the first warning sign of my impending chronic Lyme onset and started about 4 years prior with unexplained belching and worsening constipation.

I'm glad to hear you're feeling better. Considering what you went through, it probably wouldn't have taken much to improve how you feel.

If you want to blow-out your exhaust, so to speak, you could consider the Salt Water Flush, as mentioned on The Superman Diet website:

thesupermandiet.com/salt-water-flush

Following is a story of a woman who did it and the results:

www.kimwrate.com/Detox-First-30-Days.html

Although unlikely you would try it, if you do consider it, first discuss with your doctor!

Thanks for the suggestion. I went 2 places yesterday but neither had the unflavored. I'll probably just order some to have it on hand.
