Hello all,

Received today my ArminLabs results:

Bartonella EliSpot *
1 Bart.henselae EliSpot ! 3 SI
0-1 = negative
2-3 = weak positive
> 3 = positive
The result of the EliSpot test indicates weak current
cellular activity against Bartonella henselae.
Babesien EliSpot *
1 Babesia microti EliSpot ! 4 SI
0-1 = negative
2-3 = weak positive
> 3 = positiv

Am i in trouble?

Is bartonella causing me all this neurologic problems despite being weak positive, or babesia?

Well since you have both - it could be either

The good news is you know you’re dealing with both.

Many llmd’s would say treat Babesia first.

Are you looking for a LLMD? (Sorry - I can’t remember)

Wish abx are usually effective against this monsters. Anyone on specific type of abx and cleaned babesia or bartonella?
Is 4 sign of weak or strong? How do we know 3 or 4 si mesma they reached the nervous system?

I think babesia has more than 20 years old. I ilonly remember a cat scratch 20 years ago.

Bartonella - Rifabutin or Rifampin paired with another antibiotic (mino/Biaxin/Bactrim/Ceftin....)

Babesia- Mepron or Malarone paired with an antibiotic (Azithromycin/mino/Bactrm/doxy...)

4 is strong positive.

No - don't do mono therapy for these infections.

I don’t know how your Dr in Spain will treat you.
You may be on Mepron for Babesia with an antibiotic or Rifampin plus a second antibiotic for Bart.

A herx will be a ramping up of symptoms and maybe some new ones as well.
For me some were obvious - but not always as I have flares that are independent of herxes.

Re - side effects - not easy to tell unless it’s obvious - a rash within a very short time of taking the meds could be an allergic reaction.

I know the minocycline side effects are dizziness, off balance when you first go on it. I had that- but it subsided within several days.

Herxing usually involves several symptoms increasing in severity and even a few new ones.
And they should subside within a day or two especially when you up the detox and back off the meds.

Thank you Girlie. What you mean with when you up the detox or back off meds. Doesnt it subside while on abx?

Sometimes with a bad herx - if the detoxing doesn’t help and you can’t get the herx to subside- sometimes taking a day or two off meds is needed.

The NP told me if I was herxing one day - keep on the meds - If I’m still herxing after day 2 - keep on the meds but after day 3 of meds and still herxing - then take a break.

But I think if the herx is really really bad on that first day I don’t think it’s wise to push through it.

Ramping off symptoms means the neurologic like Panic Will be worst? Thought herx was dead bactéria toxins. How can dead bactéria do the same symptoms? Sorry for my question. Trying to make sense.

Also heard herxing doesnt happen to some people?

I always had Taken amoxicilin for flu bactéria complications, Yellow excretions from nose. Never felt worst of flu. Guess different infection perhaps, since doesnt affect CNS?

Yes ramping of symptoms can include the neurological ones as well. The toxins go to the CNS as well.
It's inflammation...ie anywhere/everywhere in body/brain...etc.

There are some people that apparently don't herx...that's the minority. small percentage.

No, there isn't a herxheimer with the flu virus or a cold. I had strep throat once in my early 20's and was on abx - i just keep feeling better and better...no herx with that either.

Some LLMD's discuss detoxing...but many don't

Here's some ideas (start with a couple...and every few days add in another one until you're doing multiple daily)

- Drink lots of water
- Squeeze fresh lemon juice into some of the glasses of water (drinking through a straw can help avoid damage to the enamel of the teeth. Also rinse your mouth out with clear water after)
- take warm epsom salt baths
- dry brush your skin prior to bathing and showering
- Take alka seltzer gold (must be the GOLD)
- do lymph massages

Here's a link to a website with more suggestions:
