So we are in the Kansas City area. My daughter is 5 and can’t swallow pills so we are doing amoxicillin 250mg twice daily for 14 days. We were also instructed to see an ID doctor. From what I read that seems pointless. Any LLMDs in Kansas City area? I’m crazy nervous right now! Any info would be gladly accepted!

Hi, welcome to our community!

So you are wanting liquid Amoxy?

Is this a recent tick bite?

You will need to find a Pediatric LLMD to treat her.

It would be helpful if you enabled your email so members can send you some names privately - as we don’t post the names on here for the Drs privacy and protection.

Hopefully tomorrow you will have some responses .
You can also email me and I will see if I have any listed in your location.

I do know that the J clinic now treats Pediatric patients but that would be a long way to go.

I don't know exactly where you are located but Dr. John Fried is in Overland Park, KS. I was diagnosed when I was in 3rd grade and ended up being treated by him all thru elementary and Jr. High school.

Hi Mopargirl - welcome!

Wow, you treated for a long time. Did you get to symptom free when you stopped?

How are you doing now?

Having been a young child with cronic Lyme. I've been truck the whole can't get a diagnosis, lots of trips to the E.R. feeling so bad I was sure I'd die over night, and more than I can list but I can honestly say that there single most helpful thing when I was young was my mom cheering for me and pushing me to be strong but bring there for me when I couldn't be strong. She is not going to want to get up in the morning and go do things. But believe me if you can just get her to get up and try you will find most days once she is up doing things (especially with friends and family) even if just up and talking to friends. It will take hey feel so much better and the days go by so much faster.

Hi yes I treated for a long time. Took a long time to get a diagnosis and I was in pretty rough shape by the time I started getting treatment. My hands still shake sometimes, I have some brain fog and miss my words up sometimes, and sometimes the whole fatigue and crappy feeling thing. But all of that is mostly if I don't take care of myself like sleep and eating decent. I'm a million times better than I was. I am a full time automotive technician working long hard Day's.I was told there was no way my body would be able to handle that stress but here I am out working the boys all day long. smile
