Hey everyone. What were some of your herxing experiences like and what symptoms did you have when treating bart? Anything in particular that most people get? I know some say you can't herx with Bart but a lot of posts that I've read say otherwise

Yes, you can herx from Bartonellla.

I would have more scratch like marks, neuro issues like vibrations/thumping, buzzing current feeling, and some brain fog type symptoms for me.

Oh alright thanks. I just received my tinctures in the mail from woodland essence. Wondering if I got the right dosages. For my csa formula it says 1:7 . My Chinese skullcap is 1:4 ( says to take 4 times a day at 30 drops) cordyceps is 1:8:5, iha is 1:5. Are these strong enough?

Not sure if I am herxing or not but I definitely am not feeling better although only started a couple weeks ago. Dizzyness, brain fog, headaches, fatigue, blurry vision all very much still here for me.
Very sick starting around 07/2016
Started treatment 03/2017
Bixain & Cefdinir - 3 months - plateaued
Then Biaxin & Minocycline - 3 months - did not improve
Tinidazole - 500MG 2x a day - 2 weeks
Now taking:
Mepron 5mL 2x a day
Zithromax
Nystatin
Cats Claw - 30 drops 2x a day
Gou Teng - 30 drops 2x a day
CSA - 40 drops 2x a day
Japanese Knotweed - 40 drops 2x a day

If you bought them from Woodland Essence - they should be the right strength.

S.Buhner has WE on his recommended herb sources.

Are you not going to be taking JK, or Houtuynia for Bart?

Start with one at a time...low dose...as in a few drops...and don't add a second one in for at least a few days.

I started MC Bar-1 for Bart and Monday I thought I was tolerating it ok so i took 3 drops. Yesterday my anxiety and panic went through the roof, my eye got extra blurry, neck pain was more intense, headaches more intense and nerve pain down spine and more pins and needles came back in hands and feet. I have no idea how I can treat BArt if I respond so strongly to treatment! Anyway, I'm assuming that was a herx, although sometimes I just don't know what is a herx and what is just symptoms becoming more flared up!! So very depressing!!

Herx reaction is the result of the body's response to die off and can occur with any infectious disease. The best thing to do is go low and slow whenever starting a new treatment and stay on top of detoxing. Detox is critical, as is eating clean, getting plenty of rest and doing some type of low impact exercise to keep the lymph system flowing, increase oxygenation and help with strength and endurance. You should never push treatment to the point a herx knocks you off your feet. This can be detrimental to the body and slow the healing process. Feeling a little sick is OK.

I'm a little confused. How do we make any progress on such low doses ? Doesnt bartonella repopulate quickly? Also, I'm not taking green tea extract but I've heard that it can inhibits the reonoculation ofb microti. I don't take it due to adrenal fatigue issues and stimulating them further is not a good idea for me. Is it essential to the protocol?

You can slowly titrate up to higher doses...but if you start out on high doses...you're liable to have a very strong herx...so it's best to ease into it.

No, Bartonella doesn't replicate quickly. I've read a few different things - one being 4-5 days and another one was a week.
(I think most bacteria replicate daily)

Not everyone does the green tea.

Kyle,

Don't worry about the low doses. Buhner says that some people can only tolerate a few drops and never get higher than that and they still have recovered. The key is finding the right dose for your body. If you're herxing too much or for too long, then the dose is too much for now. It's a dance. You'll get the feel of how your body responds and get better at "reading" your body as you go along. We'll be here to help and share our experiences.

about the green tea. If it's caffeine you're concerned about, there are caffeine free EGCG supplements. I get mine the Bulk Supplements and have used Teavigo before also.

My herx symptoms that I can think of: foot pain, joint stiffness, stiff neck, abdominal pain, electrical pains in my head, burning scalp, numbness, burning pain in tissues, bouts of anger, rage, irritability, feelings of despair and wanting to die, sudden crying, anxiety, worsened chemical sensitivities, sensitivity to light, sound, motion, smells, headaches, trouble sleeping, feeling like my brain is inflamed or on fire, trouble with balance and coordination, trouble remembering, difficulty with words and speaking, getting confused, exercise intolerance, unable to handle stress, feeling allergic (sneezing, itching, twitching).

I don't know if all that is from bartonella. I have Lyme, too.
