ok so I have been to 3 doctors and an er visit after staying with friends whose house had a major infestation of ticks (we were homelesswhile relocating and didnt have a choice) we moved out and about a month later after a day out with my daughter i came home and lay down cause i was exhausted, then i noticed my feet didnt feel right.. so long story short i wont bore you with all the symptoms i have ( there is a lot) i went to the docs who has said there is no such thing as Lymes disease in Arizona, though he could not tell me where the symptoms were coming from ( in fact he asked my husband if he had witnessed me passing out cos the doc didnt seem to believe me, it was very surreal) so my question is this, has anyone heard of lymes disease in AZ because it is the only thing that makes sense and where all the symtoms i have match

Hi, welcome, angelzeyez

Well, I have about half a dozen LLMD's (Lyme Literate Dr.'s) listed in Arizona. So, not sure what they're doing if they're not treating lyme disease...lol.

Have you thought about doing a test via Igenex? Fro $250 you can get the Lyme WB IgM and IgG.
you can call them and they will send you a test kit.
Then have a Dr. sign the lab requisition. Maybe go to a different Dr. - than the one you already saw.

The test results take 3 weeks.

Then you can take those results to the LLMD.

You can start a new thread: "Looking for LLMD in Arizona"

and then members can send you names privately. You need to enable your email option to receive the emails.
You do this through "My Profile" (upper blue bar)

We don't post the names of LLMD"s on here for their privacy/protection.

You can also email me and I'll send you some from my list.

Hi and welcome to our forum and I am so sorry about that doctor being misinformed.

Lyme is all over and yes its in Arizona.

Also please understand that ticks carry other infections too. Most people get a co infection too.

good Lyme literate MD , Np or Natropath should be able to clinically diagnosis Lyme and co infections.

We encourage you to read our "New To Lyme" start here thread at the top of the page.

It has good and useful information on symptoms, testing, detoxing and more.

Please take care and I wish you the best of healing.

What there's "no such thing as" is a place in this world that has not be affected by Lyme. I'm sick of doctor's dismissing people because they think Lyme is not in this area. I got the same crap from doctors in Nebraska where I live. UGH.

Hang in there. Get to an LLMD and they will help you.

This is a typical, ignorant response from a doctor. Where is their common sense? Seriously!?!

I mean- just think about it in regards to common sense...
Can a disease or infection really understand state boundaries? LOL
Can a person visit a high risk state and then move to AZ with the infection?
Do ticks understand and respect state boundaries?

Yes, it is indeed true that some state are more high risk than others. Of course! But where is the logic that it can't and doesn't exist in other states?

There are numerous people here in "states that don't have lyme disease". I feel for those people because they seem to have less resources in their state.

I'm extremely sorry that the doctor dismissed you like this. It's truly unacceptable.

(I've had that happen to us too, and we are ironically in a high risk state! So, it happens everywhere unfortunately!)
Kid#1: Extremely sick for several years, very difficult to treat, but doing great now!
Kid#2: Still sick now despite being treated for years but doing better (not well yet).
Kid#3: Generally good but relapsing off/on.
Me: Adv Labs positive 2016 (suspected I passed to my kids)-not as sick as others, mostly battling fatigue and yeast issues (heart/kidney issues resolved)
Treating with herbals now.

What 1000Daisies said.........Hard to believe this still happens.

Thats what I was told 25-30 years ago even with a bullseye rash (and even in one of the most risk states).

thanks guys, i thought i was going crazy thinking i had something that didn't exist here, but it is truly the only thing that makes sense, i am a very active geocacher but i cant even do that anymore, i had to drag myself out of bed today to go take pictures ( i am photography obsessed and used to have my own studio) but everything seems to be such hard work and no one here is understanding because my doc says no such thing in Arizona ( i disliked the doctor the moment he asked if there was a witness to me blacking out because he didn't believe me ... he made me feel like he thought i was a liar which bothered me more than anything
