So I have only been treating bartonella for two weeks now, first week at half dosage now I'm at full dosage (300mg 2 times a day).

Yesterday I had to stay home from work because I had this awful headache that was a line across the back of my head where it meets my neck and then ran along both sides of my head around my ears then to the back of my eyes. It was horrible. No amount of advil could knock it out.

Now today I feel like every muscle on my body is sore. My lower back hurts really bad.

All this along with dizzyness, brain fog, very weak, blurry vision. The pain in my feet is the only thing that has seemed to improve.

A side note - I am having lots of ear trouble and I kind of assume that the zithromax is causing it.. I might switch to biaxin. They are plugged up, and ringing and I really dont want any permanent damage. Could I switch right away or should I wait a few days for the zith to clear out of my system?

When I mess with antibiotics, I call a pharmacist if I can't reach my doctor. However, I have a nurse in my doctor's office that is so super smart and I really can rely on her information.

My LLMD said to discontinue Zithromax, and add Biaxin after 5 days.

I’m joining you in the Bart battle, but going with rifampin and Mino (my new LLmD said to drop the Zith). Took my first pill a few hours ago, turns your urine a nice shade of orange/red. Are you taking the Japanese knotweed or other herbs along with the abx?

I had the same issue with odd ear symptoms while taking azithromycin, I'm still not sure whether it was the antibiotic or the herx. Many others in my family have taken it for shorter durations without any adverse effect.

There are some antibiotics that can cause tinnitus. So, if you do develop it...take a look and see if the med you're on has it listed as a risk/side effect.
