I have always looked young for my age. And the first couple of years having lyme...no change really.

But the past 2 years..OMG

I guess it's gone for good? The backs of my hands...the tops of my feet...and of course my face.

I do have the Great Lakes Collagen that I haven't been taking...but I doubt if consuming it will work.
I also take Vitamin C

The same exact thing here. I looked fine for my age until last 2 years things are totally changing. Face, skin. I looked 5 yrs younger to my age, now I look 5 years older of my age.
I tried Collagen and Vit C. Not done any good. Lyme is robbing the looks, aesthetics, and skin.

I have low estrogen levels...maybe I should be supplementing with bioidentical hormones...not sure I want to do that though.
I think estrogen contributes to healthy skin, hair...etc.

So, yah I've literally aged 10 years - since I also looked at least 5 years younger than I am...and now I think I look 5 years older. of course hubby says I don't...of course he does...lol

this pisses me off most, most significant damage from this b***h called Lyme . From handsome attractive, it has turned me in to aged and unattractive, out of shape. Lost the pride in my looks. mad

I do seem to be aging a bit extra myself. Early 30s, have noticed a grey hair or two the last couple years, and now the grey does seem to be spreading more. At least under my chin rolleyes. I don't think that my brothers had started grey by this age. (Although I missed out on a bunch of the male-pattern baldness that they got......so far...)

As far as my skin, I'm not sure, but maybe a bit older-looking than others. Could just be the added stress too, I suppose.

The other day I was noticing how old my hands look. It's a shock. I used to look younger than my age too. Really stinks.

Me too. I'm 32 and the skin on my hands is like a grandpa. Also the skin on my face is not good. And since I'm more ill I have weird face proportions...

I have seen this for a friend that has lyme too, a girl that was beautiful the first time I met her, and her face was the same like bad proportions after.

It robs you of your best assets, skills, potentials. If you're a smart guy, it will rob you your smartness. If you are a high energy guy, it will rob your energy. If you have lookes it will rob you of your all beauty. If you can sing, it will rob your voice. Shania Twain lost her singing and voice to Lyme. Lyme is a b***h. Turns you into eating breathing wood log without any life zest.

lyme is inflamatory disease. inflamation damages tissues so ofc you seem to age more rapidly

For me, I have always looked younger than what I am for sure!
BUT after some years of high level stress dealing with my kids medical issues (not one - but all three kids!), the chronic high level of stress really took a negative toll on my body. For me, it was more stress than the lyme.
Kid#1: Extremely sick for several years, very difficult to treat, but doing great now!
Kid#2: Still sick now despite being treated for years but doing better (not well yet).
Kid#3: Generally good but relapsing off/on.
Me: Adv Labs positive 2016 (suspected I passed to my kids)-not as sick as others, mostly battling fatigue and yeast issues (heart/kidney issues resolved)
Treating with herbals now.

Yes, I have this also and is horrible. Basically thinning skin everywhere but very evident on my hands and feet. I do take the Great Lakes Collagen but have not noticed much of a difference.

I believe the Lyme messed with my hormones and threw me into an early menopause. My estrogen and progesterone were super low when I did the saliva test back in Oct of last year. I have since gone on the bioidentical hormones (both a estrogen and progesterone cream) and while it has improved some things like my mood, anxiety/depression and hot flashes it has not done much for my skin or thinning hair.

Haley - me too - I had no signs of perimenopause...and then lyme hit me and my hormones tanked.

Haven't had a period since.

Thankfully, I looked prepubescent before I got sick. Now, I definitely look my age and even older. I avoid looking in mirrors these days, I don't even recognize myself. I notice other people with Lyme hardly look sick, but I definitely look ill and have many visible signs of the illness. Primarily, every inch of my skin and hair have been destroyed. I don't think I will ever regain my looks, which perhaps is the universe's way of teaching me a lesson since I used to be incredibly vain and worked in industries, such as promotional modeling, where appearance mattered. Thank god I decided to capitalize on my other skills or I would be broke and out of work! I hope to find a way to embrace my flaws as they tell the story of the battle I'm fighting. It's not easy though...

Just curious are most of you using herbals or abx? I'm just using monolaurin (1 scoop daily) as well as alternating oregano, olive leaf, apple cider, colloidal silver, and a pinch of borax every other day or so and I feel as though I'm getting better week by week. I got bit in Sept of 2017 and did a few rounds of abx before giving up on them. Reading this thread makes me wonder if my protocol will bottom out and fail me. I feel stronger every week with just some fatigue and a few mild symptoms that seem to be getting better. I've been doing it since February.

I’m on antibiotics.

If the herbals are working for you - I’d just keep it going if I was you.

Same. I always looked 10 years younger, now I look my age or older. It's a bummer. It's a constant battle. None of the old tricks work and eye cream is basically useless. My hands, feet, everything. Even my legs. It's the loss of collagen for sure. I'm also getting brown spots on my face. Liver spots, I assume. Seemed like it accelerated once I started treatment.

I have freckles so I don’t know if I have liver spots.

I also didn’t have a cellulite problem - but now I have some on my upper legs.
Time to throw my bikini out I guess. tongue

My hands look like the hands of a very old woman! I don't wear nail polish at all as I don't want to draw any attention to them lol. I also have terrible eye bags that don't go away no matter how much I sleep. I always looked young and now I have gained weight and look my age of 46 for sure-dry skin and all. I just got my thyroid and hormones checked and everything came back normal, go figure. I was convinced my thyroid had tanked...I am thinking of adding diatomaceous earth to my coffee every morning as it's supposed to help with skin and hair. Wish me luck!

10LymeB brown spots can also be melasma. It is believed to be related to hormones and tends to present itself in pregnant women, but I have had issues with it for a long time. It is next to impossible to treat.

I'm taking the Buhner protocol, but a thing I never tried and that he advise to do : taking beef gelatine.
It's supposed to rebuild collagen.
I see on my skin when I have herx reactions, it's in bad state, etc...

Maybe it can help. Maybe I will try. It's also supposed to be good for intestines and articulations.

Edit : sorry, I'm just seeing that many of you have the product that he recommands.
