I saw a post earlier about how lyme can change the way a person looks or age you faster. Well, I don't have lyne or at least I don't think I do. I have active bartonella and I think if that is active, Lyme would be too. Anyway, I definitely have loss much of what I look like. I feel like theuscle in my face have wasted away but it's just my face. Anyone else with bartonella that have seen change in their face? As if all collagen is wasted? I know this is very typical of Lyme but all I got is Bart. Who else has this?

I posted about Lyme aging my face.

When I said Lyme - I meant Lyme and co’s. I also have Bartonella.

Btw - do you know for sure you don’t have lyme?

Yeah it was your post that got me thinking lol. I'm positive I don't have Lyme. My Bart came from my infested flea house growing up and then reinfenction from cat bite / scratch. My cheeks are like hollow now. I look normal from the front but from the sides yeah it's noticing that something's changed. I Believe that once I got better , the infenction will no longer be able to attack my collagen or muscle and I will be ok.

So do you think you will get back what you lost... or just stop losing?

Yeah. I don't know if it's collagen or muscle, but I think when I treat my infection, it can no penetrate impact my face and then collagen and muscle can regenerate.

I hope you're right...that it can regenerate.

If you treat bart and you're still not well...don't rule out the lyme.

As it's thought that not only ticks pass on lyme, but other mosquitoes, fleas...etc.

Last fall I lost so much weight from fat and collagen loss, I looked very sunken. After researching extensively, I decided to get collagen shots in those areas. It has made a huge difference. It has lasted for at least 6 months now.

I was doing much better for months. Though I recently started having a relapse of symptoms because of job stress and getting too confident with my diet, my face has not sunken in again, yet. Hoping it does not.

There is debate on whether anyone should get the shots with Lyme Disease, so I am not advocating doing the shots. Just grew tired of people asking me if I was sick.

i'd be concerned about getting a foreign substance injected into my face. Can't the body reject it?

Or do you do an allergy test first?

runningwild - Did the shots look natural - like how you used to look? I'd be concerned that it wouldn't look right.

KYLEb23 - Yes. It is Bartonella mostly responsible for changes on the face, skin, collagen. I have more Bartonella, Bb is almost gone.

Bartonella is not easy to treat. I am searching what to do to reverse it.

Newuser22, I'm doing stephen buhner's bartonella protocol and kind of diagnosed myslef.I knew how unreliable tetss can be. My house was infested with fleas when I was younger. I think it was always inactive for me until a trauma made it active. After that, I developed eye floaters, muscle twitches, sometimes pain in soles, stretch marks on thighs( always been athletic and grew steadily) and anxiety plus some more.i hope Stephen's protocol will hit I've heard some good things from people on it.

bartonella has caused my hair to gray much faster than it was. it also gave me a red rash right on and around the bridge of my nose. nasty stuff.

Just wondering what kind of collagen product you used? I have researched a bit and interested in possibly doing something cause I can't stand how much this has affected my looks.

Rikky,

Funny you mentioned gray hair. I've had signs of bartonella since childhood and got my first gray hairs at 18. I pulled them out with tweezers for a long time until I realized I was gonna get a bald patch if I kept doing that. In my mid 20's I got highlights and then started dyeing my hair all over when the highlights couldn't cover it anymore. Finally, at age 45 after my full blown Lyme symptoms kicked in, I had a bad reaction to the dye and called it quits. I let my hair grow for about 4 months and then got all the dye cut out of it. I had no idea what it was going to look like. Thankfully, it's almost all whitish gray and looks nice. The older ladies at church oouh'd and aah'd over it, LOL!!!

I just wish more women my age would go natural, so I wouldn't be the only one.

My face doesn't look too bad though. It's funny how the older I get the prettier I think I look. When I see pictures of me when I was in my 20's I think, Wow! I can't believe how pretty I actually was. I certainly never thought I was pretty then. I felt plain and awkward. I guess self-acceptance has finally won over. If only girls had that kind of self-acceptance when they were young how much happier and more confident they would be.
