Recovered from Lyme about 2 years ago. Had a total right knee replacement in August 2017 and followed up with 4 months of physical therapy, but my progress was a bit slow. Both of my legs now seem to have lost all of their strength and the muscles in both legs, especially the thighs, are sore to the touch. I try to walk my dog in the woods every day for about a mile (I used to do 2 miles without a problem), but now it’s a struggle because my legs feel like concrete blocks and I lose my breath. After the walk, I’m exhausted and need a nap. I have lost all flexibility and strength in my legs, which was not the case before the knee surgery. Saw my LLMD and he suspects that I was bitten again, although I don’t think I was. Igenex blood work was only mildly suggestive of Lyme. He put me on Azithromycin two weeks ago, but apart from a bad Herx two days later, not much has changed. Some days my legs do feel a little lighter, but today I’m back to the legs of stone, out of breath feeling. I’m really at a loss. Does anyone have any thoughts or comments as to what might be going on here? Much appreciated.

If it isn't Lyme, then it might be bartonella.

Were you symptom free the first time around (when you stopped treatment)

Many of us don't see signs of a bite...

Or it could be a relapse...were you treated for babesia and/or bartonella before?

Bartonella or mycoplasma and maybe something else in there. We never fully get all the bugs killed our immune keeps them at bay till we have stress or an illness, a new bite I do not think I think old infection coming back. New would have been changing around you seem to have it in hips and legs that seems like old Bart deep in tissues. Just opinion

I'm sorry you're going through this. Sounds like it's time to treat again. sad Do you have a good LLMD?

Morning Missyouall,

So sorry to hear about your legs. Is it possible that the surgery released hidden bacteria and toxins to start circulating again? Toxins hide in one's cartilage, etc.

Interesting article below regarding toxins and herxing:

www.tiredoflyme.com/the-herxheimer-reaction.html

And about detoxing:

www.tiredoflyme.com/detox-methods.html

I had problems with my legs when I was sick where both my legs were so weak that I couldn't walk for about a year or more. I needed to use crutches to get around (inside my home I was crawling on my hands and knees). Also I had these horrible stabbing pains in both my legs and I have a very high tolerance for pain but this was extremely painful.

I found out later on that the cause of my weakness and pain were from toxins and first I started taking Jernigan's Borrelogen and Neuro-Antitox Formulas. The Neuro-Antitox helped bind up toxins which made a huge difference.

Then I started a detox protocol (dry skin brushing, detox baths, foot detox baths, etc.) and the pain and weakness slowly went away to the point where I was able to do aerobic exercising.

I'm not saying that this is the case with you but wanted to share my experience regarding weak legs.

Hope this helps a bit,
Denise
12 years well ~ used Dr. Jernigan's protocol from his book about Biological Medicine (used Borrelogen, Microbojen and Neuro-Antitox).

I still detox even though healed and drink Green Vibrance. I come back to help others for others helped me when I was sick. Pay it forward! smile

It sounds like you are relapsing...or another exposure.

Do you have a LLMD currently?

Yes, I have an excellent LLMD. He thinks it’s a new infection. Who knows.

it's the same infection, you just relapsed.

you cannot get rid of this once it spreads, you can just put it in remission for a while
