I was bitten in my calf by a tick in August last year in my home country the Netherlands. It was removed by another person as I couldn't reach it myself, She just pinched the tick's body into me.sad In November after doing a water fast, I started getting red rashes on my arm and shoulder. They look like the EM Lyme rash but all red (no bullseye) with some blistering if I scratch. Have not gotten anything else like fever , pains or stiff joints for months now. Could this be lyme??. I eat a very healthy plant based diet so my immune system must be pretty high. Also, I heard as a form of prevention if you don't wanna do traditional antibiotics its good to do this:

2 x 500 mg/dag Cat’s Claw per dag.
2 x 200 mg/dag Japanse Duizendknoop (er moet dan 100 mg resveratrol inzitten).
1 x 1000 mg/dag astralagus
3000 mg/dag vitamine C

I started doing this because its almost May and I still got this rash, faded away in the morning but especially turning red and coming up after a workout. Never had rash, eczema rashes in my life before this. So what do you think of this herb regim, is it any good ? And do you mb see a clue here, that I'm not infected ?

Hi Fridolf,

Welcome to the forum and so sorry you have rashes. Since I'm not a doctor (nor anyone else on this forum) I can't tell you if you have lyme or not. Perhaps a lyme literate doctor could as well as a Western Blot test done by a reliable laboratory. I have a friend in the U.K. who sent her blood to IgeneX in Palo Alto, California.

What is interesting is you started getting the rashes after doing a water fast not to mention that at least 2 months went by after you were bit by a tick. I don't know the duration of time for rashes to appear after getting bit.

When I was bit (and to this day I don't know what bit be, I was told it was a spider bite after having my skin biopsied) my rash appeared within a week or so. My rash was not a bullseye either and it turned all different colors from red to purple, etc.

I'm curious to what type of water you were drinking? Is it possible you were allergic to the water? I don't know.

Well, I'm not being much help here but it sounds like your body is fighting whatever you have by itself. Do you know anything about detoxing (detox baths with Epsom salts and hydrogen peroxide), etc. On the top of this forum is a sticky thread called "New to Lyme? Start here" and there are detoxing instructions.

How long have you been taking these herbs? If you have been taking them for months and not seen any improvement I suggest you look into other herbal protocols as there are many different ones.

Hopefully others will chime in and give you their input.

Wish I was of more help,
12 years well ~ used Dr. Jernigan's protocol from his book about Biological Medicine (used Borrelogen, Microbojen and Neuro-Antitox).

I still detox even though healed and drink Green Vibrance. I come back to help others for others helped me when I was sick. Pay it forward! smile

I'm not sure, but it is possible that you do have Lyme and the herbs are killing it off, which is good. You could add andrographis too. Since a rash is your only symptom, I don't know what would be the best to do, but maybe your immune system is taking care of it. I don't know.

Also, did you finally get the tick removed, and did the bite heal? I've heard that pieces of the tick could stay in your skin and cause trouble.

It was distilled water. Yea we got the tick removed. I started the herb regime a couple of days ago.

Also I've added Teasel root tincture and Cistus inganus tea

FWIW it sounds like a good idea to treat as you are doing for a while and then see if you can get tested just to be on the super safe side (I hear Armin labs is one of the good places for testing in Europe but maybe someone else here can comment on that).

My concern is that if you're very healthy you may not become symptomatic for a while. It took me somewhere between one to two years to develop clear symptoms that made me suspect lyme. If you have test results you can then decide whether to continue treating or count yourself lucky smile

You might want to get a tick remover, some andrographis and bentonite clay to have on hand if you ever get bitten again. Applying andrographis to the bite and then covered with a paste of bentonite is supposed to help prevent infection.

Fingers crossed for clear health for you.
