Hi, everyone!

I used to post on here quite often, but stopped for a while because I was on and off of treatment, switched to herbs from abx, and was just adjusting to everything.

I began my herbal supplements the past week or so.

I have babesia and bartonella, in addition to borrelia. I've come a longggg way in the past 2 years. My only symptoms left are head and eye pressure, and eye and throat dryness. Some chest pain here or there.

Have any of you herxed off of herbals and experienced constant head and eye pressure during it? Without the supplements, I have head and eye pressure here or there, but now it's constant. Also, I've been getting more ocular migraines than usual the past week. I'm just worried that this isn't a herx, but rather a bad reaction to the supplements. I'm hoping some of you have similar experiences with these!

I'll be starting a supplement to rid the biofilm next week, so I'm nervous I will have a pretty bad herx as well. Any advice? Thanks smile

Did you start herbs on at a time?

What herbs are you taking and how much?

Sounds like constant herxing to me.

You asked if herbs can cause herxing.

Answer: Ohhh, Yeaaahhh!!! Even at ridiculously tiny doses for me.

WalkingbyFaith-

I'm starting very very low with my dosage once daily at night-- Going to slowly build up to 2 times daily (morning and night). Currently, this is the run down:

1 capsule Saccharomyces boulardii (probiotic)
1 600 mg capsule NAC (going to work my way up to 2 capsules)
1 500 mg capsule Meriva-SF
B vitamins and Vitamin D
3 drops BLT (microbial balancer-- working my way up to 10 drops)

In the next week or so, I'm adding 1-2 250 mg capsule(s) Artemisinin Solo, 1 20 mg Buluoke in place of stevia, which I do not tolerate well, and a stronger probiotic in addition to the one I previously mentioned- Orthobiotic.

I am extremely sensitive too!! Even this small amount does crazy things to my body!

Yes, we can be very reactive to certain herbals. For us, it causes more flares than herxs, unfortunately. And we go slower than vast majority of people. I have such mixed feelings about the herbals.

I just wanted to caution you on the Saccharomyces boulardii. I know most sites say it's completely harmless and not pathogenic, but that isn't accurate unfortunately. It can and does cause a certain yeast overgrowth in some people. So, that is definitely one product that I strongly recommend people research thoroughly before using for any length of time. (I have posted about this previously.)
Kid#1: Extremely sick for several years, very difficult to treat, but doing great now!
Kid#2: Still sick now despite being treated for years but doing better (not well yet).
Kid#3: Generally good but relapsing off/on.
Me: Adv Labs positive 2016 (suspected I passed to my kids)-not as sick as others, mostly battling fatigue and yeast issues (heart/kidney issues resolved)
Treating with herbals now.

I got an awful headache for 3 or 4 days when I started boneset. I'm sure it was a herx.

I would keep taking a low dose until you feel better and then possibly add more or another herb. Each time you add an herb allow your body to acclimate and wait for the herx symptoms to decrease.

I'm not familiar at all with Meriva-SF or BLT, so I can't relate to the effects or dosage of those. In a general sense, I can tell you I definitely had increased head symptoms when I started and increased isatis/houttuynia/alchornia formula and sida acuta for bartonella and babesia.

I can tell you I just got over a pretty good herx maybe? Or the NAC I took yesterday is what is helping me..... I had horrible anxiety,OCD, and carzy thought s of losing control. The last two days I skipped a dose and detox Ed more. My herxes always feel like an autoimmune reaction.

WalkingbyFaith-

How long did the increased head symptoms last? Are they completely gone now?
