Well, I've only been on Rifampin plus mino and Rifampin plus biaxin.

The biaxin was just for a couple of months.

I'm on bactrim now, but I don't think it's doing much for the leftover bart now that I'm treating babesia.

Most of my symptoms went away on the Rifampin/mino or biaxin combo - was on that for over 1 year.

I think boneset has helped me a lot. Byron White's A-Bart seemed to really work, but it was too strong for me to keep on taking it after a couple months. I only did some of Buhner's herbs; some of them didn't work for me. I'm still looking for the right bartonella treatment myself.

I've been doing Buhner's protocol for 10 months now. I'm very sensitive and can only tolerate a few drops of some of the antimicrobial herbs.

I know the herbs are doing something, because they elicit symptoms sometimes minutes after taking them.

Progress, though, has been up and down. I have had some progress. It's just been slow and if I start herxing the symptoms that had improved get worse again.

i started this with severe gastritis. was in pain most of day except when eating. iv seen 20+ doctors and done wagons of tests. for months nobody had a clue.

after i finally found what was happening, my pain went away after abx treatment. most effective levofloxacin and rifampin.

that was 4 years ago.

am i healed? not even close. my problems moved to neurological and muskoskeletal. i restarted abx 8 months ago. the neuro ones are gone now. i had a flare a month ago but was mild compared to last year.

right now my worst problem is shin bone pain. after adding houttuynia last week it became much worse. i currently take mino rifampin zithromax artrmisinin and houttuynia tincture.

i have to say expected to improve on abx sooner, but the reality is different, 8 months in and i am not done.

feels like bart is my worst enemy

Me, too. I've had signs/symptoms my whole life, and I'm 48 now. I don't expect recovery to be quick or easy for me, but I can't give up either.

Over the long run , Buhner bart protocol is slowly working. Less and less severe flares. So many symptoms gone.

I still alternate or switch out Sida and Isatis here and there.

I just finished up Bidens and continuing to take cryptolepis(to cover Babesia in case its still lurking) and many supportive(rebuild and restore)herbals and supplements.

I'm on Ketogenic diet(8 days so far, 3rd try).

Bart is a tough one....don't give up

If I can stick to it this time, I did notice a difference in overall feeling better after being on it before for 3 weeks. Hoping to stick to it this time, the food is good, but just have to plan meals ahead better.

goshawk,

Did you not take houttuynia at all?

I still haven't tried cryptolepis or artemisia, but I don't even know if I have babesia. I take sida acuta and Bidens pilosa. Was hoping they would take care of babesia if it's there.

I dunno - you might need all guns ablazing for babesia. it's nasty.

I feel like the Buhner bartonella protocol is working over here. Since I think I'd dealing with babesia as well it's hard to differentiate some of the symptoms but overall both seem to be slowly subsiding. Bidens and boneset seemed to be helpful additions.

I follow a diet that is probably ketogenic most of the time but I've never really tried to check as that wasn't quite my aim but I'm hoping to give that a proper go as well to see if it helps. I know I feel much better when I am careful about what I eat.

I am currently on Rifampin and Biaxin for just a month. The first few weeks I was on Rifampin and Zithromax but had some hearing issues while on Zith so switched.

I had one good week and its been downhill since. It was the first good week I have had in years. I tired not to get my hopes up, but it was hard not to when I felt so great.

Hopefully I can get some more and more of those good weeks.. only time will tell, bart is a nasty infection.

WalkingbyFaith,

Yes I Take the Houttuynia 3X a day. I only alternate the iIatis and Sida in the Bart protocol.

I do still throw in andrographis once in a while to hit Lyme just in case also.( The Japenese K. I already take as part of the Bart protocol) cats claw Tom. I just never could take much off.

I went all herbal last July, so its been 10 months now on just herbals and supplements. Before that was 10 months ABX/mostly Lyme herbals.

Just this last week I have started to feel a bit back to normal, just glimpses of it, its a feeling like if you have broken free of something and have glory in your heart...hard to explain.

I still am having a few symptoms , but low level and random. I'm not sure what to think... don't want to get my hopes up too high because it does seem sometimes like I will be battling this forever...but

I have been thanking God everyday for healing, its the only way I have made it through all of this.

The armetsian I only did about a month of ,very potent. I did have herxing from it and I think it has helped also.

Yup I think most of us know exactly what this description means. Crazy when you think about it that you're the most happiest you've probably ever been because you feel normal like everyone else around you.

What a world we live in.
