I've heard of shin bone pain with bartonella, but I have pain in what feels like the muscles that run parallel with the shin bone.

Anyone else have shin pain in the muscle instead of the bone?

I'm having it in both legs tonight. I remember having it a lot when I was younger.

Can you describe the type of pain? I've had different kinds of muscular pain - there's the burning pain that feels tingly and both hot and cold at the same time like I've just come in with a bit of frost nip. Then there's the deeper random cramp type pain, achy I've-been-overusing-my-muscles like pain, and then a very strange one that feels almost as if there were a hollow shaft inside the muscle, it's like bone pain but it's situated somewhere inside the muscle, I get that more in my arms. In the lower leg it's been mostly the burning-tingling kind that seems to radiate up from being centred around the ankle and top of the foot I think.

It feels like what is commonly called shin splints. I feel it when I walk, like a sore muscle. I think it's inflammation in the tissues connected to the shin bone.

I was just trying to think if I did anything yesterday that may have strained those muscles, and I think I did. That's probably it.

I hope they’re feeling better soon then. It’s too nice a day over here for Lyme, or any other, pain. I expect it’s beautiful weather by you as well.

WbF- sounds like its just muscle tightness/ache. It doesn't take much to aggravate shin muscles, these are what lift the top of your foot up at an angle. Just doing some unusual movements can do this.

With the lack of blood flow to the lower legs, this can persist. The muscle on the outer side of the shin bone is usually the culprit about 3-5 inches below the knee.

To help speed up recovery:
Sit in a chair which allows lower legs to be roughly 45degrees in front to floor. "Strip" the muscle here- slowly run both hands down each shin one at a time shin with both thumbs running firmly down that concentrated area. Or find someone else who can if the rest of you is too sore to do this- it takes some hand strength. Followed with Topical arnica Montana or Epsom gel will help too.

Astro man,

Thanks for the instructions. It's actually not sore today, but I'll keep this for future reference.

So I guess this doesn't really have anything to do with Bart then, other than muscles being out of shape (and oxygen).

I have low MSH, which results in cells not getting enough oxygen (exercise intolerance). My oxygen levels are usually around 97% on those finger meters, but I understand that doesn't measure how much is getting to the cellular level. Right?

Is there a way to raise MSH levels without using VIP spray?

Is there a way to get more oxygen to the cellular level in such cases?

I never tested MSH, but want to.

"Is there a way to get more oxygen to the cellular level in such cases?"

- I would like to know, other than exercise and the dive chambers.

ozone?

I used to get that type of pain in my shins a lot. Ouch! For a while I had to stop walking. I don't know what it is, but I probably have lack of blood flow to my lower legs also. It has gotten better lately, I don't know why.

Now the pain seems to have migrated to my calf muscles.

Both sides need even tension , calf/shins, otherwise stiffness is the result.

Interesting you said this. That's one reason I was wondering if it was Bart. I had this a lot when I was younger but haven't had it in a long time, and all of a sudden I had it again. I backed off a good bit from my bart treatment a few weeks ago. I felt better (not herxing) until a couple days ago when I started having intestinal pain again. Then I noticed tightness across my upper ribs and soreness in the upper left quad of my chest like I had 3 years ago when my symptoms were at the worst.

I had diarrhea and vomiting a few weeks ago and then diarrhea again 4 days later. Weird looking stuff came out. After the 2nd time, my gut felt better than it had in a very long time (months to a year). Then I started eating bad food again (not that I ever stopped completely) and was craving sweets. Maybe it was candida that came out with the diarrhea/vomiting and bad food just restarted it. Candida antibody test I just had done was negative again.

So hard to tell. All I know is for the past 3 days I'm feeling worse again. Today I'm back to feeling overwhelmed, crying, anger, wanting to die because I can't handle stress at all, and wanting to run away and do anything that will distract me from the stress and misery.

WalkingbyFaith - I'm sorry you're suffering again.

You will get through this again...

I know when a symptom i haven't had for awhile comes back...it just devastates me.....but then a day or a few days later...it's gone again.

But, next time it happens...I fall apart once again.

We've been battling so hard and so long that we're just worn out from it all.

(((hugs)))
