So I was diagnosed yesterday after seeing the doc for a golf ball sized bullseye rash. I was out in the woods last weekend and got poison oak. 24 hours later I had this a normal Poison rash and this bullseye rash. I've never seen a tick on me. (My husband checked me as well) I'm not that concerned except that I had a hip replacement 3 months ago. Now it's the weekend and I can't talk to my surgeon until Tuesday. I won't lie, I wonder if I really have lymes. But to be safe I started the antibiotic therapy treatment. So does anyone know if it could affect my hip? I've looked online but can't seem to find much

Welcome to our community!

Just a quick note as I’m using my iPhone to type this.

You are fortunate to have caught it early!

But you need to take high enough dosage of antibiotics for long enough time - that is your best chance that knock it out and not become chronic Lyme .

What are you taking and what dose?
If it’s doxycycline - it needs to be 200 mg twice daily - and treat until sign/symptom free for 4 weeks with a minimum of 6 weeks

EDIT: If lyme goes unchecked...yes it could affect your hip. But, you have caught this make sure you treat it sufficiently.

Hi and welcome to our forum,

Sorry that you have Lyme, but I'm so happy to hear it was caught early. As Girlie said make sure to get proper treatment now as it is the best chance to stop the disease.

Detoxing is also important we have information on that and more about Lyme at our "New to Lome" start here thread at the top of the page.

Take care
