Hey, I wanna know the possibility of recovering on herbals. It seems to me like not really a legitimate cure. I really don't have money for a llmd either though so antibiotic treatment is probably unlikely. I know some people get better with herbal protocols like buhners which is the one in looking into, but has there been any stories on here where there is substantial evidence that herbals are really even effective? I personally never haven't so far.

Here’s a thread on some success stories if you want to read through them

It’s been awhile since I read them - but there’s likely both antibiotic successes as well as herbals

Thank you you're doing the buhner protocol too aren't you? Do you think you've improved on the prprotocol and have you ever hexed badly?

No, I'm not doing the Buhner protocol.

I did do the Buhner lyme protocol for a few months before I was diagnosed....waiting to get properly tested. I didn't get a response (not that I can remember)

Then after diagnosis I went to a LLND and stopped the herbs and just did abx.

I added Buhner bartonella herbs to my lyme antibiotics for about 4 months. again, didn't seem to notice anything.

I haven't taken buhner's herbs consistently for a couple of years now...

Antibiotics didn't seem to help me, but on the other hand, some of the Buhner herbs haven't worked for me either. I think you have to try different things and see what works.

for me nothing worked as much as i expected, and everything worked just a little.

the problem with herbs is quality. i never knew if what i take has the right ingredients or not. buhner says somewhere in his book about bart treatment. mix isatis, houtt , alchornea together and drink the stuff etc...

then he says "if nothing good comes out of it in X months, then u are taking too low dose" ...

seriously ? so how do i know ? im supposed to balance between taking a low dose that is placebo and wrecking up my liver and end up in ER with a huge dose of some toxic herb... choose !! smile

on the other hand, there are no antibiotic regimens now that address persisters efficiently, so ... it's not like u have a clear choice in front of you ....

ok maybe there's dapsone... but that drug is so un tested on lyme that dr H has NO IDEA how much dapsone to give to patients. he runs trials .... accidentally gives double dose to some... etc...

seriously ... no reliable treatment for u anywhere with this disease: abx, herbs, light therapy, prayer... they all have a very hi failure rate ;)

FWIW I feel that I have had good results from Buhner’s bart protocol. The only herb I am careful with is Isatis (kidneys). Responses to treatment are quite varied I guess so you need to find out which type of treatment you respond best to.
