Does anyone know if these two herbs can be taken simultaneously? Buhner has them listed for different purposes but I am not sure about taking two "ginsengs" at the same time...

I'm not sure but in every book he has said it's OK to take all the herbs for every protocol he's listed at one time by mixing them together. From what I've seen there's only a few contraindications with all of the herbs he's listed and it's usually with medications and not with other herbs. If you're worried you might be sensitive to those herbs, start slow and gradually work up.

Not sure. But there are so many herbals that are in combination products already!

This article may or may not be of use to you on this issue:

From article:
"Take the recommended dose of the adaptogen you have chosen every day for a minimum of two weeks, carefully monitoring for changes in mood and in how you feel. These herbs are most effective when taken on an empty stomach. Maimes suggests that you take rhodiola in the morning, while holy basil, eleuthero, schisandra, ginseng and astragalus should be ingested during the day. Cordyceps, reishi, ashwagandha as well as teas made with holy basil and jiaogulan can be taken day or night. If after two weeks no changes have been noted, discontinue for a few days and evaluate any changes."
Kid#1: Extremely sick for several years, very difficult to treat, but doing great now!
Kid#2: Still sick now despite being treated for years but doing better (not well yet).
Kid#3: Generally good but relapsing off/on.
Me: Adv Labs positive 2016 (suspected I passed to my kids)-not as sick as others, mostly battling fatigue and yeast issues (heart/kidney issues resolved)
Treating with herbals now.
