Thanks for the replies; I will definitely look into Lauricidin and Candicid Forte. I currently take 150 billion CFU refrigerated probiotics, a non-dairy kefir drink, Sac B. in pretty large amounts, and another candida supplement.
Didn't realize I could take Sida 3-4 times a day; maybe I should be working up to that.
And I believe that I'll be contacting my doctor and setting aside the antibiotics for now - and probably Bactrim for good. I tolerated Rifampin/Biaxin/Tindazole all at once better than I've tolerated just the Bactrim
Please be cautious about
taking s. boulardii in large amounts (or any amounts). Despite claims on the internet that it's completely safe and does not cause yeast overgrowth, that is not accurate. It can and does cause yeast overgrowth for some people./www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15889360
I'm not saying you shouldn't take it (that's your choice). I'm just saying that people should know the pros/cons of what they are taking, and it's really frustrating to me how s. boulardii is so pushed nowadays without explaining that it needs to be taken carefully and that is can/does cause yeast imbalances for some people.
I have posted numerously about
my yeast struggles. Here are prior threads in case you are interested:/www.healingwell.com/community/default.aspx?f=30&m=3785103
FWIW - I suffered from headaches, migraines, menstrual migraines, kidney pain and sickness, plus fatigue. To make a long story short, I went after the yeast (I had a non-candida strain), and everything went away (or greatly greatly reduced) except for the ongoing fatigue (which I believe is more adrenal related at this point). So, yes - I believe yeast imbalances can cause many symptoms that may overlap with lyme/coinfection systems. Like viruses, I think yeast is very often overlooked and not addressed.
I'm confident I'd still test positive for it but have knocked it way down. It is something I have to be very careful about
probably forever or at least a really long time so far. I've been dealing with it for years now.
Kid#1: Extremely sick for several years, very difficult to treat, but doing great now!
Kid#2: Still sick now despite being treated for years but doing better (not well yet).
Kid#3: Generally good but relapsing off/on.
Me: Adv Labs positive 2016 (suspected I passed to my kids)-not as sick as others, mostly battling fatigue and yeast issues (heart/kidney issues resolved)
Treating with herbals now.
