Very confused about where to go. My following words might seem rambling, but this whole situation is so confusing.

I still have a low-grade fever every afternoon starting around 2:30 or 3:00, and it lasts until around 7:00 pm. Along with that has been a slow-escalating dizzy feeling that lasts most of the day and some evenings. The dizziness is different than any I have felt in the years of having Lyme.

Lyme and Babesia blood tests are high, along with milder Bartonella. Confusing it all are concerns from doctors about kidneys, blood pressure. Have had frequent urination for weeks and weeks, but I've had that before. Also, back itches.

The problem is it is so confusing on whether it is Lyme and co-infections causing it or kidneys. My GFR has been low (50s) for years and creatinine high at times, but the LLMDs I have seen treat that like no big deal.

Kidney problems, from what I can find, do not cause just afternoon low-grade fevers, though fatigue is a symptom. Also dropping too much weight again because I am unsure of what to eat with kidney potential out there.

Just deeply depressed waiting on more test results for kidneys and not knowing what to do.

Is constant dizziness also a (common) symptom of Lyme/Babesia?

Have no one to talk to about this, so I thank those on this site.

I would say dizziness is a pretty common symptom for lyme or babesia, probably moreso babesia.

Are you on any kidney support? Or are your kidney issues severe enough that drs are considering a type of treatment?

Opugirl - thanks for response.

The only kidney support I use is a cranberry pill and ginger tea. Doctors haven't told me anything to do, specifically, except to lower protein intake. They still don't know what is happening.

I have had frequent urination and thirst several times over the years with Lyme. But the one test came back with protein in urine. Have been tested several times since and it has not shown up again. It's such a slow process, but the doctors don't understand the Lyme (or maybe believe). By going so slow, it takes away from treating the Lyme and eating enough to keep weight on.

The GFR number went very low to 44 on the one test more than a month ago, but that was when I was eating a LOT of protein and had eaten a good amount two hours before test. Think that effected results as creatinine was also very high. Have also had itching on back before, like I do now.

Just have never had dizziness like this. Can things get worse on a relapse? At least when considering just Lyme and co-infections, the confusion and anxiety wasn't as bad.

Finally, kidneys do not cause the morning anxiety, I feel, is happening because of adrenals, even though my tests came back normal for that. But, they did not test T3, which is always low.

I'm sorry for appearing obsessive, but just thrown by it all.

You are not obsessive! I've been there. I was also one that had a lot of weight loss. Although I can't keep much weight on even these days. One of the things that was helpful for me was fat/bone broths. That isn't protein but it is loaded by calories. I don't like to speculate so I don't want to think about what could be going on..let me check some of your older posts to see if I can get some info...

I didn't know there are fat/bone broths. Just thought it was all proteins.

Also, I've been looking into a lot and found some posts concerning low anti-diuretic hormone and Lyme Disease. Seems it happens, or can happen, with Lyme Disease. It involves biotoxins, from what I could understand, which could involve parasites like Babesia.

Symptoms of low ADH include thirst, frequent urination, fatigue, electrolyte imbalance, more... Not sure that is what is happening, but it would make sense. I've had similar symptoms before, except the dizziness is much worse and more consistent this time.

Maybe others have had similar or been told about ADH.

I'm sorry you too have lost weight. Was it mostly fat/collagen? That has been mine.

Everything but definitely fat, I'm good now! Been healed for several years now. To put this in perspective I was about 100 lbs before lyme...during I was 87 lbs. so not drastic. post healing and post baby I'm a whopping like 105?

Yes the broths helped a lot! A did a quick looksy through your post and am hoping your kidneys come back OK. Lyme definitely affected my hormones and since your kidneys process disease as well as some antibiotics they certainly could be affected. I would look into additional kidney support.

How far are you into this round of treatment (the relapse?)

Opugirl - First, you are awesome how much you help people. Traveler was the same way. I try to jump in with what I learn and encourage. But you go extra mile. So glad you are good now.

Did you have Lyme and co-infections?

How far I am into treatment this time is vague. I got about 85-90% between January 2015 and June 2016. Then had heart surgery and immune system went with it. The valve replacement was no big deal. The Lyme coming back was different. I think Babesia and others jumped in at the opportunity. Plus I coach college cross country and track - not a real laid-back job.

To answer best I can, by about a year or more ago all got bad again, so started treating with more of a mix - Crypto Plus for Babesia (along with Zithromax) and BLT, which treats Lyme and Bart. Dropped a lot of weight then, too, but felt better after about 6 months. But this time it didn't take long to slowly come back - maybe two months.

Things have never been as tough as they are now. The kidney concern doesn't help. Hopefully tests in the next couple weeks will determine. Bicillin has always been very effective in my case, but co-infections this time have made it less helpful. Been not as consistent because of kidney concerns and major stomach issues with certain antibiotics.

Trying to keep job because the health plan is great. Just becoming a struggle, and missing out on a lot of life. But there are many others in same situation, and I feel for them all.

Just deeply concerned about kidneys right now as treating would leave little to eat or do. Limit protein for kidneys, limit cards for Lyme. And with fat loss already taking a toll (started at 172 pounds a few years ago, now back down to 150.
