Because of a bad all-over rash. Also got a biopsy done. Doctors orders. Does anyone think this will be ok? Thank you.

Yikes! Was the rash related to the herbs? Andrographis? Can you take oatmeal baths to help? I hope things clear up soon Serfr.

IF you need a break then I would try to look at it as a chance for your body to rest and that no matter what happens you'll have a chance to gain some insight into how the herbs are working for you and what your baseline is.

FWLIW I had a major relapse of babesia when I went for 4 weeks on a reduced protocol of just 5 or 6 herbs. Bartonella and lyme symptoms didn't change. It took a few weeks to get things back to where I was before hand and I learned some new things on the way. I'm less worried about relapses now which is a relief for me. I feel like I have a few new clues into what's going on and where I'm at and like I can relax a bit more knowing that I'm in for the long haul and I can manage some setbacks.

(Edit) That’s not to suggest you might relapse at all in 10 days. I had no signs of relapse until I was towards the end of that period. I just mean that everything that happens gives us information to work with.

Please let us know how things go for you during the break.

Thanks! Its good to know herbs may work again if a relapse happens. I started this herbal protocol around Spring 2016, after being on IV and oral abx for 2 years. My pain is mostly gone, mood is better, all that remains is bad vertigo (ataxia), and very bad exhaustion. I can handle the physical better than the mental symptoms. They were worse than the pain.

Hope everything goes well for you and maybe you can continue detoxing while you are off the herbals.

It would still be beneficial.

10 days without herbs is not a problem. I would suggest that you use that time to increase your probiotics and immune friendly supplements. The break will help establish your microflora since you will not be killing it with the herbal anti-microbials.

When you get back on herbals please start low for the first few days, otherwise you might herx like crazy.

BTW, please read up on Andrographis and chronic Lyme. It seems that it could over-stimlate your immune system.

FWIW - I often take herbal breaks for various reasons. I know this board has previously promoted constant use of herbals and not taking breaks. I obviously don't personally agree. smile I think breaks from time to time can definitely be warranted/justified.

It is possible. The infection has caused me to be allergic or sensitive to all seafood, bleach, Aloe Vera, most nuts, Black Pepper, MSG, berries and the list keeps growing. One day I can eat it and be OK, and the next day I get sick from it.

I'm sorry Healing98, what are your sx when you eat those foods? I have a feeling it might be foods also. Who knows. I remember walking through my house, in no pain, but crying, wailing, loudly for no reason. Also sitting in my car in the driveway, ready to go just around the corner to the store, and hyperventilating, having a panic attack. That seems worse than any rash or pain that i might have. Also, music was either horrifically annoying, or would make me start wailing again, even just thinking of a sad song. But now i can listen to and play music again.

Hey Serfr:

Food symptoms? Let's see, with some foods I get ear ringing then I get very dizzy and feels like my blood pressure or sugar drops to where I feel like I am going to faint, but it never happens. I then start to hyperventilate and go into a super high panic attack.

Other foods or chemicals make my ears ring and then my throat gets very itchy and raspy then my whole body gets itchy like crazy. I then get a running nose and my eyesight gets a little bit blurry. I then begin to panic and run to take a benadryl. It will take about a half hour for this to pass.

Some of the symptoms that you describe ( ....walking through my house, in no pain, but crying, wailing, loudly for no reason. Also sitting in my car in the driveway, ready to go just around the corner to the store, and hyperventilating, having a panic attack. That seems worse than any rash or pain that i might have. Also, music was either horrifically annoying, or would make me start wailing again, even just thinking of a sad song. But now i can listen to and play music again.) I've had but are attributed to an Endocrine deficiency. When our Endo system is depleted or taxed we begin to experience these ypes of symptoms. They are common with Lyme and reason why many people with Lyme are on Syntroid or some other type of hormone therapy. I am not, I haven't found a doctor (even my Lyme doctor) that is willing to treat me for that because my blood work is in "normal range".

Some of the symptoms that you described have gotten better with treatment but have not gone away. Light sensitivity, listening to loud music, crying for no reason, being emotional out of nowhere, stuff like that was horrible some time ago and now it happens now and then. I think you get used to it and learn to ignore it somewhat.

Wow Healing98 that sounds terrible, I'm sorry. I think i had the herx of dizzines and exhaustion after i ate tonight too. I think I might eat too muxh protein- almonds, almond milk, almond butter, and protein shakes everyday- because the only meat I eat is a littlle salmon everyday. I read somewhere that too much protein's bad. But my stomachs always empty.
