I was recently diagnosed (about
a month ago) with Lyme disease by an LLMD after going undiagnosed for what is most likely a couple of years (though, like many of you, I'm quite unsure of when it all started).
My symptoms are mostly neurological and have resulted in headaches, spaciness, weakness in limbs (seems more when I'm what I think is herxing) and anxiety and has greatly impacted my quality of life. Most days I feel bound to my bed.
Because I do not take to antibiotics well, we have decided to try the herbal route.
He put me on the following:
Month one: Phytolymex
Month two: David Winston's Spirolyd Compound for two weeks followed by David Winston's Spirolyd Support for two weeks
Month three: an increase in the dose of David Winston's Spirolyd Compound for two weeks followed by an increase of the dose of David Winston's Spirolyd Support for two weeks
Here are their ingredients:
Phytolymex: Asian Psyllium, Dyer's Woad, Chrysanthemum Morifolium, Codonopsis Pilosula, Elecampane, Huang Jing, Sichuan Lovage, Tree Peony, Coltsfoot, Poke, Ground Ivy
David Winston's Spirolyd Compound: Sarsaparilla root, Andrographis herb, Cat's Claw wood bark, Guaiacum wood, Prickly ash bark
David Winston's Spirolyd Support: Houttuynia herb, Sichuan Teasel root, Isatis root, Sweet Annie herb, Lomatium root
He hopes that, since my infection did not seem severe given the blood results, that we can possibly get the disease to go non-reactive within several months. If it does not go non-reactive within these this timeframe, then we will change and up the herbs.
Apparently these herbs follow Buhner's protocol – does anyone have any experience with either the tinctures themselves or the herbs in them separately?
Thank you in advance and I am wishing you all the best in your recovery
