Hello everyone, I just got back from seeing my new LLD. She is going to put me on a month of Minocycline and test for Lyme again in a couple more weeks. It has only been less than a month since my rash appeared so she said my antibodies wouldn't have time to build up yet. On another note she was going over my past medical history which includes fibromyalgia, migraines and depersonalization and she think I have a problem where my brain can't handle chemicals, has anyone ever heard of this before. I am getting lots of blood work done so hopfully I will know more when I go back in a month.

A month is a good start - but at this point you do need to treat until symptoms are gone.

And hopefully your LLMD will add a second antibiotic to the mino in a few weeks.

You do know that even if the next test is negative - it doesn’t mean you don’t have lyme.

You had a bite, with a rash and symptoms developed

I’m glad you are getting treated.

Hi Girlie! I will make sure to ask for more antibiotics after this round is done. I forgot she did also give me Tindamax to take but just on weekends. I am worried that since the Lyme blood tests are so inaccurate It will keep coming back as negative just like my sisters did, she didn't test positive for three months but hopfully i can keep pushing for more antiboitics. Thanks for your help!

So I went over your previous posts - you've only been infected since mid October?

If that's so...its possible that daily mino plus tindamax two days/week may be sufficient.
Hopefully your LLD will gauge things...and if you're not getting better after several weeks...she will look into adding another antibiotic.

Hope this is all you need and it will be in your rear-view mirror ---- and you'll be saying "sayanora" to lyme disease.

Yes, I started the antibiotics two weeks after the rash appeared and I will be on them for a total of 6 weeks. I hope it will knock it out too! Thank you so much for your help!

Hello, just an update on me. Right now I am done with 5 weeks total of antibiotics, doxy first for two weeks then minocycline. I just noticed that my pharmacy refilled the mino for another 30 days even though my bottle said no refills do you think it's ok if I take it for another full month? I have been doing pretty good since coming off the antibiotics, the only symptoms that have come back are a score throat and the ringing in my ears but I want to kill off as much of the bacteria as possible. I think it should be fine as long as I keep taking probiotics, what do you think?

I would say yes. Your symptoms are not gone yet. You need to keep treating. BUT I am not a doctor and there ARE risks to abx (like all medical treatments...)

You did get an LLMD, correct? Maybe ask for their guidance in this and let them know that you have an extra month of meds.
Bite in mid-Aug 2018, no EM
Neuro symptoms/headache in late Aug 2018.
Finally saw LLMD early Nov 2018
Positive WB 11/26/18 (band 41)
CDC positive babesia 11/26/18

LLMDs recommend the 6-8 weeks also. Regardless of symptoms. I know if 2 well known that do. Both here in NY. One is world renowned. I'm not sure if I can post names here. Anyways that's what's recommended here. Then symptom free another week after. I'm trying to attach the schedule from Dr Burrascano but I dont know how. 🤔

If you have symptoms at that point - the treatment shouldn’t stop.
It needs to continue - you don’t want it to be a chronic infection

As Kris Rox pointed out - The OP said she had a sore throat and tinnitus - treatment should continue.

Thank you for all the helpful information. My LLMD wants to me start 3mg of LDN, hopefully that will help my immune system fight the bacteria. I also found out that I have a double genetic mutation called MTHRF which makes my body harder to detox, I am making sure to take epsioms salt baths and dry brush regularly.

You’re still on abx though right?

Re: ldn I recommend you start lower dose and slowly increase.

Yes, I am on minocycline 2 times a day and TINZADOLE on weekends. I thought the LDN was started high as well but my sister even started at 4.5mg, she had side effects at first but now its really been helping her so hopfully I will get good results too.

You may not need the higher dose -

Here’s the site I first learned about LDN
It does mention somewhere on it that 4.5 may be too high for some people.

I tried it and ramped it up quickly but it didn’t help me - I think maybe if I had taken it slower - it may have worked better.
It actually caused me to have pain during my sleep hours.
