I was hoping to get IM Rocephin, but it looks like my insurance won't cover it. So...the next option according to my LLND is Doxy with Rifampin. I know I have Babesia, Bart & Bb. I was hoping the Doxy/Rifampin could at least hit on both the Bb and Bartonella, but I am afraid of it tearing up my gut. Has anyone seen much improvement with the Doxy/Rifampin combo? I also use lots of Buhner herbs as well as rifing.
I was only on doxy early on prior to seeing a LL Dr.
It is hard on the stomach.
Would you be willing to discuss an alternative with your LLMD? Minocycline is a good antibiotic to pair with Rifampin.
You can always try the doxy first...and then call your LL Dr. if it's bothering your tummy...and ask to switch.
