My mother has common Lyme Symptoms but is seeing a rheumatologist that seems to only be managing the pain. She has a couple of bands positive but not fully positive. She's been given plaquenil and steroids by rheumatologist and so far not helping. I think it's worth her trying 1 month of Doxy as to me that has better risk/reward payoff than plaquenil. If it's Lyme or similar bacteria and caught early it could be a game changer. If not, I think she should still be ok if she takes a probiotic along with it and only does it for 1 month. I'd like to know if there are any good LLMD recommendations around the area. I'm searching for LLMDs on lymedisease.org but not sure who's really good and who's not. I've found that some LLMD's only have a little bit of experience and some have a lot. And there is a huge difference in what they know.
I'm sorry to hear about
Is she on board with looking into lyme? If so, you should advise her that the dosage of steroids used in autoimmune conditions are immune suppressing and can worsen her lyme and confections.
I hope you get some recommendations from members here. If not, you can email me and I'll check my list of LLMD's. I don't have experience with any of them...and most don't have reviews from lyme patients though.
