I was driving along today and suddenly my swallowing reflex didn't work. Scared the hell out of me. I've had trouble swallowing food before, where it feels like it gets stuck and moves down very slowly, but this was different. I wasn't eating or drinking anything, just swallowing saliva as people do all the time, and it felt like momentary paralysis at the top of my throat. Hoping this does not become regular!

This supports my theory that bartonella is coming to the forefront now. Really not looking forward to treating this one.

Sorry you've got a new symptom (maybe).....but certainly could be bartonella....as I'm quite sure bart is what has given me all my nerve issues over the years. And that does sound like a nerve issue.

Where are you at now? Mepron for Babesia?

I got the swallowing issue from the bart herx too. I could still swallow if I really tried, but it was just difficult enough that I wouldn't swallow automatically, and the saliva would build up in my mouth.

Ugh, this Cat Scratch Disease is like rabies. It not only stimulates the adrenals to cause aggression so animals will bite and scratch, it causes the swallowing problem too.

Girlie, yes, Mepron, mino, clinda, art + for babesia. I don't feel much difference between being on/off cycle now so I think (hope) I've gotten rid of a lot of the babesia.

My most constant symptom now is vibration in the legs. Sometimes I have a twitch and trouble swallowing food. My eyes ache and are sensitive to light, and I have new bladder discomfort today. Also had weird crawly sensations today for the first time. Also have strange, hard-to-describe head episodes occasionally. Not liking this development.

I delayed starting this cycle due to having a cold but I think it's time to get started and hope the abx hit whatever this is.

I could not swallow at all briefly. So scary.

I feel like an old car I used to have that had electrical issues where things would briefly and randomly not work, and the windshield wipers would occasionally swipe all by themselves, lol.

Well you should be targeting bart soon - once you’re done with the Babs cycles - hopefully not too far down the road.
