Has anybody had blind spots after bright wavy spot. Looking to get past the fear ...

I just experienced the eye bright spot in peripheral vision of one eye. Lasted about 30 mins then this weird distortion/ blind spot. Couldn't see all letters on key pad. And if I looked in mirror half my face was distorted.

Freaked me out. Although I know it comes with territory. I've had similar ocular migraine type experience before.. but.. This one lasted longer and dwelled I became panicky I was going to remain blind. And not be able to read how to help self online/ books. One day could just go blind. A few of those pop up in google search.

It just never ends.

How do you know it's not a migraine?

I used to have ocular migraines but haven't had them in years. Had one yesterday that lasted longer than they used to last but was otherwise the same.

Yeah. It seems as though regular ( non infected) people get these also.

This is my fifth

But this one had lingering blind spot. And distortion. Do the ocular migraines have this?

I get the lingering blind spot after the flickering lights. Definitely makes me appreciate vision.

Have had it happen on and off for years. It’s always my right eye and is eventually followed by a migraine. Or most of the time.

It seems associated with ocular migraine. Good news is there has been no permanent damage. Usually happens in bright lit areas.

It is an ocular migraine and normal people can get it too. I just never had an episode until after I got sick with bart. Regardless, it's usually self-limited and resolves within 30 mins to a couple hours.
