This kid had severe chest pains yesterday and then finally the left side of his face went numb and drooped a little. A CT scan and MRI revealed a lesion on his brain. (Right side -- the right place to cause the drooping on the left side of his face.)
He will have to more tests to rule out a tumor, but he is so glad to have some physical proof of what's going on -- and some hope that when this resolves, his brain will work right again.
I’m so sorry your kids are going through this, too. I totally get his gladness about
having some physical proof. I had a Neuroquant MRI a year ago to see if it would help me tease out Lyme vs mold. While it showed no longer in CIRS ranges, it did show brain abnormalities. When I talked to my PCP about
it, I asked if those things were normal and he said no. He also confirmed that the parts if the brain affected would affect things like ability to think, plan, organize, etc - executive function. I was glad to have proof that my cognitive dysfunction is due to brain abnormalities.
This kid sounds like me. My initial onset of symptoms started days after a vaccine and waxed and waned for years until a respiratory illness took me down hard.
