Just a quick update in case someone finds these threads one day, hoping to find information.
One thing that kept me worried was the sterility of the solution, given the fact that I used unpurified bee venom (crude).
I know that for hcg injections, bac water (0.9% benzyl alcohol) is used as preservative.
However, as I don't know much about
chemistry, I was worried that bee venom would degrade somehow in benzyl alcohol.
I did research and finally started looking into patents of bee venom solutions.
I found the following patent: Standardized bee venom preparation (Patent: US8440234B2) https://patents.google.com/patent/us8440234b2/
In the PDF of that patent it states:Another preferred formulation comprises 11.0 mg of pure dried Apis mellifera venom, 9.0 mg of sodium chloride and 0.009 mL of benzyl alcohol plus 0.991 mL of water.
This gave me confidence that benzyl alcohol was a proper preservative to use in my bee venom solution.
Because of this, I added it to my solution today.
I also did my second injection today.
I know benzyl alcohol doesn't necessarily remove bacteria, but it is my understanding that it will at least somewhat stop more from growing.
This was important to me as it will be in the fridge for months.
