Some of you know I've been experimenting with the carnivore diet - all meat, nothing else - for around six months now. For a while, it worked AMAZING. Like, everyone should do this! I'M CURED! At about
month 3 I started to decline again. Slow and in small increments. I got worried. It wasn't horrible, but not great. I thought: OK, this isn't the end all be all. I need SOME veggies. I seem to tolerate some, but not in any normal amount. All veggies make me bloated and have increased inflammation. More pain
Yesterday, I fell off the wagon hard and had half of a very small piece of vegan coffee cake. The result being: Late night dizziness, almost instant constipation, sharp stomach pain, and this morning I'm seeing stars. I have a headache on the crown of my head. All from a little piece of coffee cake. Now, I don't know what the heck was in it. Some junky fake flour, fake sugar, and fake everything. I'm starting to realize how badly those things effect me. Just 'cause it's vegan doesn't mean it's healthy.
I'm bummed. It wasn't even great coffee cake. Not like mom used to make. Feeling bad today, but I've learned my lesson. I'm kind of afraid I can't go back to normal food. It's not the worst sentence in the world, but if coffee cake does this - I can't even think about
spaghetti or pizza or birthday cake? *sigh* Oddly, french fries (my achilles heel) don't effect me like this. I get a little inflammation, but nothing this bad. Weird. What the heck was in that coffee cake??
