Now what? Clearly, I still have Borrelia, via microscopy, Bartonella, Babesia, and other infections. I've been at this for 3 years. Antibiotics are tough and have terrible side effects. So, what do I do, I feel worse off of them but at this point they are not a cure for me.
If I have post-sepsis or some sort of immunosupression and/or anutoimmunity, the latter I never tested positive for auto immunity markers, what do I do? I'm beyond fatigued.
For a lot of people, babesia can be the dominant infection and if you don't entirely get rid of it, treat long enough or aggressively enough, it just keeps coming back. That was a big reason why I suspect I plateaued with antibiotics throughout the years.
You may have to consider using a more potent antiparasitic like dapsone/daraprim, coartem, and even one of the quinines(but the quinines do have extreme side effects). Some have done something like alinia and a-bab for 4-6 months and reached remission, I heard this protocol on Babesia Buddies Facebook Group, sounds like maybe an effective protocol.
My doctor says see how it goes, stop everything, and if you get worse, you get worse. He wants me to go see a Reumatologist, Infectious Disease Dr., and or a Psychiatrist. He thinks because I have been on antibiotics for so long that they are not working anymore, and I kind of agree with him. But I do physical therapy and lots of other things and I'm still not better. He also, told me it probably is just placebo at this point and that I look good, but I don't feel good.
That sounds good, in the meantime, I think it would be good to get on a strict diet of low carbs, cut out the dairy and gluten, take tons of probiotic pills, enzyme pills, and even some of the fermented foods like unpasteurized sauerkraut to help heal your gut.
I suspect something like SIBO can lead to something like sepsis... There's just times where you have to get off all antimicrobrials all together, pound your gut with healthy foods, enzymes, probiotics and allow your gut and body to heal.
Then most likely after a few months the borrelia wakes up again, as well as other bugs from their dormant state, then most likely you'll have to hit them back again with herbs, antibiotics, antiprasitics or whatever...
Breaks are important, no one stays on antibiotics or herbs forever all the time.
