I have been well since February of 2019; no longer on antibiotic treatment, feeling well, slowly gaining my strength. I was on various antibiotic treatments for about
7 months total. I still follow the autoimmune protocol diet, as my disease kicked off extensive food intolerances in my body. I still use many herbs and supplements to help aid my body in on-going healing. I was sick with tick-born illness for (at least) 2 years before being diagnosed and treated.
My questions are centered around great news: I'm pregnant!
I (of course) have only found conflicting literature regarding pregnancy and breastfeeding post Lyme disease treatments. And this site is full of real people, who have been there and done that, and I would love to know what you all know regarding anything I may want to watch for or be aware of so that I can be a proactive momma, in a world of Lyme illiterate medical communities. Also, I did have a lyme specialist treat me, but have not needed his care since about
March. He is not an OB Dr and I paid him out-of-pocket for my Lyme care. So I'm looking to be self-educated and aware during this pregnancy, using an OB Dr that my insurance covers, and keeping in mind when, and/or if, I should seek out care from my Lyme specialist. I specifically want to breastfeed my baby for all of the benefits that has for baby and me, but of course, want to protect my baby from any lingering Lyme bacteria that could be present in my body, although I have been symptoms free for about
6 months now. Thanks everyone!
