DSF is helping, but I don't think it is likely to do enough to wipe out Babesia.
I think it is Babesia that is causing most of my problems and I don't think DSF is the magic bullet for that by any means.
It'll take time JovaLyme, it doesn't happen overnight, but what Dr. K and Dr. L is hinting to with DSF, it seems to be the best drug for both borrelia and babesia at the same time. I'd stay on that and try nothing else.
Even the hepatitis drug takes time to cure hepatitis c, there's this misconception curing happens overnight, it takes time with any chronic infection.
Babesia has developed resistance to mepron and malarone, as Dr. Rawls stated in overuse in livestock. Plus the Yale study showing babesia has low susceptibility to traditional antiparasitics.https://news.yale.edu/2018/11/29/yale-scientists-develop-new-system-study-emerging-tickborne-disease
And the quinines have too many side effects to use, I think DSF is the safe bet. I did hear someone say they reached remission by using A-bab and Alinia on the Babesia facebook group.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Thanks for all the information as always Charlie,
I'm going to stick with DSF for as long as I can stand it. I don't like it to be honest. Makes me feel dreadful and very toxic.
I definitely think you are right about
these infections being treatment resistant to a lot of conventional meds.
I will give Alinia a try and possibly A-bab too.
I think it was Rikky1 who said on another thread here today that he/she took disufiram for 5 or 6 weeks, got tested and the presence of Babesia in their blood under a microscope was exactly the same as before beginning Disulfiram and that it had no effect at all.
Disulfiram has done "something" but I don't really know what. The herxing has backed off a lot after the first few days or so even though I have increased the dose to 250mg a day now. All I'm getting on it now is a worsening of the weird nerve symptoms like tingling, burning and a feeling of cobwebs draped over my face or something. I am beginning to wonder if the DSF is now just aggravating nerve inflammation without actually killing anything. It hit my brain very hard early on, but now it seems to do very little.
This is so hard to self treat. I don't even know what infections I've actually got, which really doesn't help matters. I need to scrape some money together and get some bloods sent off to Armin for Babesia and Bartonella tests. Until I know what I'm actually up against it just feels pointless doing anything really. All I know for sure is that I definitely have a positive Borrelia test from Armin and my CH57 is very low.
Medicine has failed us very badly. Very badly indeed.
