I love ashwagandha, but I had been on it for a few years already at the point that I was most adrenally depleted. I think it took time, more than anything, but I also think I benefitted from an adrenal glandular formula (Dr Wilson's Adrenal Rebuilder) and supplementing the nutrients the body turns into hormones (DHA, healthy fats, selenium, B complex, etc.). Working hard to stay as calm as possible and not push at all is so challenging but so important for the adrenal system at that point. Not getting cold, not going downstairs for anything, staying in pajamas all day, not consuming any suspenseful or troubling media, and above all not flipping out about horrible symptoms (THE HARDEST THING).
I hope that this low point for your daughter ends very soon. She really is so fortunate to have such a supportive parent. Please feel free to vent and ask for support for yourself here as well, as we know how hard this all can be for caregivers!
