Hi all!
I’m a bit newer here, and I’ve recently made a post about
a few different routes my neurologist has offered me for diagnosis. One being to see his ID referral, second being a nerve biopsy from his referral at Hopkins, and lastly having a spinal tap. I’ve decided to hear who his ID referral is, but I’d love some LLMD recommendations from anyone on this forum in the northern Virginia area (I live in the Reston/Herndon area). My neurologist in McLean is well-known in this area and wonderful! I trust his judgement, but will take ID referrals with a grain of salt and research them first.
Since you may know your LLMDs best, my test came back negative. I had 0/3 IgM and 3/10 (18, 23, 41) IgG. I would also like to be tested for co occurring infections, I’m not positive how this works if all LLMDs can test for this, but if your recommendation can please let me know!
Thank you!

Klhmed - I go to a LLMD - who is also an Infectious disease Dr. in Washington, DC.
From what I can tell, he's not that far from you?
Your IgG is 'enough' to back up a clinical diagnosis (I know I'm repeating myself)
Dr. J or his practitioners will not dismiss you.
He doesn't usually do further testing...but if you really want it...I think he'd most likely sign off on a lab req.
You can email me...if you want the cost of the appointments...and how often they are (ie they're not every month)
