Still going at 62.5 mg daily in enteric capsules. I was at 125 mg for about 6 weeks, feeling pretty good, and planning to stay there for the duration of my treatment. I actually started exercising a few days a week, but then my liver enzymes suddenly shot out of range. That was on 1/15 and I dropped dosage the next day. Last blood draw on 1/24 showed liver enzymes back to normal, but other markers from CBC are low: WBC, RBC, hemoglobin, and hematocrit. Those 4 were often low when I was on IV Rocephin + azithromycin last summer. This was the first CBC I had in about 6 weeks. Other CBC's while on DSF showed those as borderline low but still within range.
I'm trying to figure out what this means. I feel pretty crappy now and I'm wondering if babesia is playing a part. Did the exercise cause the anemia or was I already anemic and exercise just brought out the symptoms? Maybe the exercise caused weakened or infected RBC's to die? Is the sudden rise of liver enzymes related to this (babesia in liver)?
Hoping low dose enteric DSF can still kill babesia...
