This is the sad truth and everyone doesn't wanna face it even though it's just common sense. Let us all play outside again and we'll all get chicken pox. The only way out is through. You can't lock everyone up forever. Let's just get this all over with. Keep the at risk people at home and let the economy go on because the death toll of a tanked economy is far worse than that of COVID. We're going to have an entire generation who lost their jobs relying on government checks to survive. So sick of this media saturation about how important staying inside is. We NEED herd immunity. COVID is here to stay. There won't be a cure for it anytime soon. If they extend the lockdown until we find a vaccine, which it's looking like they are considering, we will all be dead from collateral damage if we don't die of corona. This is getting ridiculous. I wish I could move to another planet.
Agreed. Jobless claims are up something like 25 million. For every death, 565 people have lost their job. What does that cost? How many suicides, divorces, homeless? Will 5 million lives be irreparably ruined because 50k people died, most of whom are old or sick or going to eventually die from covid anyway for the reasons stated above.
Not to mention the logistics of a vaccine for every single person will be insane! Imagine the manufacturing?
So many excellent points from you both. Exactly, nobody wants to see this! People are so brainwashed to totally conforming to exactly what they're told. It's not even wrong to say this, the damage is going to be catastrophic. Anyone who disagrees is shamed into oblivion for exercising critical thought, or just having a differing opinion - which they're allowed to. It's disgusting, it's like the crabs in a bucket. This is how despotism arrives people, especially if it happens to be for speaking the truth.
Anyone with lyme knows fine well how little the government really cares about
This is from officials by the way so anyone who wants to rage at me for having a narrative or any such please take it up with those reporting this. 2/3rds of the people who died in the UK would have died anyway! Also, on this time last year, the increase in deaths for this month was 2500, that's 10%.
I had felt insane here. Thank you guys for your remarks. I definitely won't be taking any vaccine here either. The lymerix one was dreadful. Why should this one be any different, not to mention the news that some elderly people were made more susceptible to the virus by the flu shot. That and I simply just ain't comfortable already being sick and adding to my already ruined body's load of stress.
Finally, dcd2103, you're so right about
the hospitals, if they're full that's a good thing, furloughing and closing down due to being underwhelmed. There are more and more antibody studies coming out suggesting that up to 5% of the population had it and it was incredibly mild, not requiring hospitalisation. Given the exponential spread, herd immunity could be done and dusted in a relatively short time. Not to mention it makes the IFR incredibly low - as opposed to the big scary sit down and obey numbers presented. Also there are of course more deaths going undetected too. One more note is that, the criteria includes COVID for any death where covid was present. So people with 3 months to live, COVID, not the cancer they'd been battling etc. It's as if people want it to be horrible for as long as possible. As long as we have hospital capacity we'll be alright.
Also, just a note, half of my family are nurses. I'm tired of being shamed for balancing things with the cons as well, economically that is.
There are no pretty solutions in the real world.
