Hi, CLB. I was hoping you'd get more replies. I would recommend doing a little research on homeopathy and Chinese medicine beforehand so that things will make more sense to you. They are both very different from Western medicine, and your visit will be more productive if you don't have to spend time figuring out what meridians are or why "liver heat" means something different than you might think.
Both approaches have long histories of use, and can be practiced as entire systems of medicine. Someone on the forum also has used Classical Chinese medicine, which is different from Traditional Chinese medicine, so it might be worth making that distinction, too. As a naturopath, I assume this doctor also will know about
herbal medicine more generally, nutrition, energy work, mind-body medicine, and other important approaches. I hope you find what you are looking for from them! What was your LLMD's approach like?
