Yes, it can. Acid can stimulate your vagal nerve and cause heart palpitations and a racing heart. I have that and it is a pain.

For me, I have what I think are ulcers in my esophagus and upper left stomach that when irritated, I get pain in upper left chest and then it radiates to my left shoulder and down my arm. Of course, I then think I am having a heart attack and start freaking out and my blood pressure goes way up, my ears get clogged up, my heart starts racing and wants to jump out of my chest. What I do then is drink water or some other liquid and just like that, it gets better. It is so bad that the last time that I ate black pepper ti stimulated something in my stomach and made my heart rate go up above 100BPM for a whole day. Then more recently, I tried some new herbs and my heart rate jumped to 153BPM for a whole day. Yeah, no fun at all.

I recently had an ultrasound done of the heart and arteries and they are fine. Have had a number of recent EKGs and they are normal. two months ago they even did a coronary angiogram and the cardiologist said that my heart and veins are in great shape. It sure as heck doesn't feel like it when your chest is in pain and left arm starts hurting.

I have an appointment with a Gastroenterologist next week. I know she is going to want to put me on PPIs. I was on them for 6 months when I first had Lyme years ago and it really didn't help but was a horrendous experience getting off of them. It took 3 or four tries to eventually be able to do it.

What has helped me these last few days a little is that I started taking probiotics (10/50B) and I have had some improvement (30% maybe). They do make me burp a lot and somewhat gassy. I am on a restricted diet but every time that I eat tomato sauce it kicks my butt.

I hope I was able to answer your question?

Thanks. I think mine is very gaseous ...
I have had constant burping. Constant feeling of trapped gas .
Doesheartburn go with burping. ?
Is it a Lyme thing or should I eliminate all foods.
Happening for days now.
Usually after waking but this has been all day.
Can't eat
Chest discomfort

Can't really say. gas is a result of something that is being digested or fermented. I don't know what your diet is like. If you eat certain vegetables, meats, sugar, starches then that could be causing the gas. It could also be one or more of the herbs or medicines that you take and the gas is a side effect.

For me, the probiotics and vegetables do it every time.

It probably won't fix the acid reflux issue, but hawthorne is the herb of choice when it comes to palpitations. Your heart will thank you for it. There's also leonurus cardiaca as a second option
.

My belief is it can. I have some heart issues because of an aortic valve (was born with it and eventually had surgery). I do get palpitations from time to time but have developed reflux again and seem to have more palpitations than usual. Seems like I read once that reflux, mixed with certain foods, can cause palpitations.

If you have reflux, try d-limonene , its works prob 90% of the time. Jarrow in the brand to get now comes in 500mg gels.
