I definitely had improvement from pyrantel pamoate. I don't mean to spread rumors, but it is true that wormwood (not sweet wormwood, which is something different) has compounds similar to marijuana? I did feel a little strange mentally, but I attributed it to a herx reaction.

Also, I had an interesting experience with a parasite cleanse: I was taking one with similar ingredients to Brenda's, and feeling a bit better, but not really a lot different, and then a healthy family member without Lyme tried taking some, and they felt absolutely horrible!

Compounds in wormwood are used to make absinthe. It's not related to cannabis. The concentrations and processing that make a wormwood supplement would not have the same effects as absinthe. I was concerned about this, too, before I took wormwood, and looked into it. smile

I’ve seen information which states Alinia shouldn’t be taken if one has flukes, as that can push them into the liver. Well, Blakeley took Alinia before I knew this, and no testing was done to that effect by prescribing LLMD so not sure about that.
And does Alinia kill liver flukes? Not sure.

Regarding Brenda’s herbal cleanse, that is strange that it wouldn’t cause effect especially if you had a parasite issue. It feels like such a great experiment and we have to make an educated guess as to what meds/steps to take next.

Brenda’s cleanse is just mild, supporting herbs. Like I said in the other post, I thought most “cleanses” were the olive oil and lemon or grapefruit juice regimens that people drink and then pass “stones” afterwards.

There’s nothing I know of about Tumeric, milk thistle, fennel, and dandelion that should cause a herx.

I would find a doc who treats parasites often. Dr Y in St louis helped me.
He writes a monthly piece that he archives at his site-Prevention and Healing-often its about parasites.
You may want to read them.
Ive met many other patients with stomach issues there who got better after doing parasites cleanse-besides me

I am going to ask LLMD at next appt this month about Rx for parasites. I don’t want Blakeley to go months on the herbs and it not fully do the job. If LLMD doesn’t
Know about the protocol, I may contact Dr Y, although I wonder if he does tele-appts, as travel that far for now would not be possible.

I read many articles at Dr Y site. Thank you for recommending. I also read info on another site detailing the protocol without dosages but the meds listed to take in order were: biltricide, pyrantel, ivermectin, albemdazole, Alinia.

He said may have to do multiple rounds of the above. Which brings another question to mind. How does one know they are cleared of the parasites or if they need more rounds?

Also, different topic about this, I was speaking w a friend who worked at a vets office for years about these meds. She understood the idea of treating parasites but was shocked at the length of treatment for the meds. She said in the animal world, you would give one dose and then maybe another in two weeks for any eggs that may have hatched in between. Even for dogs that came in with heavy infestations, she said they would only receive that same dose.

I know it’s not the same but wonder why it doesn’t get rid of the infestation in people like that? Or maybe the animals aren’t really getting totally cleared. I was just thinking about it.
