i would test for it - the way i reason it is every month I lose X of lost income and spend Y on treatments - so my reserves go down by Z - which would pay for the test even if it only shortens my illness by a month or two - but do your research and use the money wisely

test for both of these are generally poor

i think Igenix have a better bart test now that looks for more strains/species of Bart as most only look for b. henslae or maybe Quintana - but there are many that infect humans - 11 or 15 or so - the number found keeps rising - or maybe a western blot type i seem to recall.
general ELISA type test for Bart have pretty poor sensitivity as does PCR

i think FISH tests are about the best type for Babs

Garzie.

I was told to get ifa for babesia.

If I do Bart it will be western blot igg and igm.

But I can just do igg for Bart and save a little.

I figure that if I was to be igm positive then I would definitely be igg positive.

I don’t know if mr theory is correct though. Lol

The other way around for Bart igg / igm i think - igm is the first antibody formed in infection - igg later - but testing for both should increase the chance of getting a true positive result - which is v hard for Bart - so i would test both. odd things happen with your antibodies in these chronic infections - especially where lyme is involved/ suspected

Thank you for all that info.
So you were on 10 mg also. But did you also take leucovorin? What about nystatin. My dr says he uses the Horowitz protocol but he does not have me on everything that Horowitz uses. Also I don’t think he plans on getting me up to 200 mg. I think is his plan is 100 mg.
My dr did test for the g6pd before starting. I was ok to start.

I was on 50 mg of dapsone daily and 10 mg of leucovorin
