Has anyone with PTLSD/CLD and or persistant/chronic Bartonella received the mRNA vaccine?

I have struggled with Lyme + Co-infections since 2014. I had Covid in April with strong symptoms for 30 days....tested negative for anti-bodies. Still struggling with long covid symptoms on top of my persistent bartonella (i think the lyme itself is clear? who tf knows...)

Based on what I've read, the J & J vaccine in phase 3 now is live virus, so a no-go for lyme sufferers. The Novavaxx is a subunit which is supposedly "safer" for Lymies, but may not produce as much protection. And the mRNA is an unknown.

Hoping to find ppl who have actually gotten BOTH doses of the mRNA vaccine to share their experience. I am finally starting to see progress in my long covid symptoms (treating with herbs) after 9 months. I cannot fathom what would happen if I were exposed to Covid again....

I’m curious too.

I work in a residential care home and will be offered the vax - with chronic Lyme I’m afraid to take it.

Plus I am kinda leery of any vaccine - especially one that has been rushed through manufacturing/testing etc,

I was hoping to get the j&j vaccine instead of the mRNA. I feel better about a traditional vaccine. Why shouldn't lymies get it?

Re: getting the vaccine with lyme.

I wonder about how our immune system has been affected with chronic Lyme... and if vaccinations could affect our immune system negatively

WV Mike,

You asked why those with Lyme shouldn’t get the vaccine. My Lyme symptoms started 4 days after a flu vaccine in 2009. I can’t prove the vaccine was a trigger, but I suspected it could have been even back then - years before I knew it was Lyme or that there was any controversy over vaccines.

The whole point of a vaccine is to trigger your immune system to create antibodies. If your immune system is dysfunctional (like it is with chronic Lyme or CIRS or autoimmune diseases), then you don’t know what might happen. Your immune system may do exactly what it is expected to, or it could do something unexpected like hit overdrive and get stuck in a loop.

There’s also the concern about the substances used in vaccines. Some may be harmful to some people, especially those who may have genetic susceptibilities or impaired detoxification.

This is all related to traditional vaccines. I really don’t know or understand enough about the different types of COVID vaccines to comment on that.

J and J is NOT based on a live weakened covid virus, any site telling you that is wrong

Somebody said...

The researchers added the gene for the coronavirus spike protein to another virus called Adenovirus 26. Adenoviruses are common viruses that typically cause colds or flu-like symptoms. The Johnson & Johnson team used a modified adenovirus that can enter cells but can’t replicate inside them or cause illness.

I wonder too. At this point I still feel the risk of going on unvaccinated outweighs any potential neg reaction from the vaccines (including mRNA).

I'll probably get whatever is available when I have the chance and will report here about my experience.. hopefully many others do the same. Maybe we can start a thread with a clear title and format for doing this...

My wife had the Pfizer mRNA vaccine, at least the first shot, and did well. Sore arm and mild fatigue for a day nothing else. She's scheduled to get the second dose early February. She works in a hospital and felt the risk vs benefit was worth getting it.

Update: I am now eligible for the vaccine in my state. Going to sign up if there is ever an appointment available...very nervous. I see there have been some new vaccine threads started as well. Really hoping to read some more personal experiences before I make my final decision...

You can wait for the Valneva vaccine manufactured in France, it will start phase 3 trials on april, this vaccine is the first one in the world based in an inactivated covid virus based on the same cold vaccine everyone takes for decades and tested securely for its safety, it is said it will be forthe vulnerable population like pregnant women, children. There is also hope in a new treatment from israel that could shut put vaccines pharma in bankruptcy. Its called EXO-CD24. Also, a belgian virologists suggested that ivermectin could erradicate covid in 6 weeks, new data keeps coming from ivermectin that its effective for covid in humans, but there are many on the pharma and medical community who are suppressing this new data, who knows why..
