I'm on Dr. Horowitz's double dapsone therapy, and I'm on day 23. Since starting this therapy I have experienced spasms in my body especially around my legs/feet. However, the last few days I've had visible spasms in my left chest muscle. This has comes and goes. Just a little while ago I was exercising and about 30 minutes into my workout it hit me out of nowhere. It almost felt like my heart fluttered, but might have just been overthinking due to the suddenness of the episode. My left pectoral muscle was spasming like crazy. I immediately stopped exercising and sat down and it went away after 5 minutes. Could this be a side effect of the meds I'm on? I'm taking a bunch of stuff. 5+ years into Lyme and treatment and this is the first time this is new to me.

Thanks

I've had similar outbreaks of twitches (chest muscle almost feeling like heart flutter and leg/foot muscles) being on Bart herbs. I can't comment on dapsone specifically since I've never taken it, and also I'm not sure what infection(s) it hits.

I get this all the time, not currently on meds. My twitching is severe, but having fluttering or spasming in the chest(especially the left side) sucks!

Thanks for the replies.

I think I'm fine. I had never dealt with that before especially popping up out of nowhere during a work out scared me a bit. Over 5 years into this journey not much worries me anymore, however anything heart or breathing related still can freak me out. Looking back at this I'm not sure it was heart related.

I would get more muscle fluttering / twiching in the past which is obviously only slightly bothersom, no pain ect.

That said, I would also have chest muscle tightness which was part of my complete whole body stiff/tension.

I could crack my sternum for many years by stretching with my arms out back. Now more relaxed, I can no longer crack my sternum, and don't need to anyway..

Not heart related.
