I was previously tested and treated for Lyme Disease with tetrycycline.

I received a present abnormal reading for 1gG 41ab and 1gG 23 ab but all other Lymes testing is negative.

Can you recommend a lymes disease doctor in New Jersey who can interpret the results?

I have been suffering from post covid symptoms for almost 1 year. I had covid 19 last year.
I was sent for testing by the rhuematologist. This was the only testing that was abnormal.

Thanks.

Hi and welcome!

Someone posted this in another thread the other day:

Horowitz is recommending the mRNA vaccines to his patients.. favors current safety data over risk of developing long covid through infection.

I believe he is in NY. Not sure how far from you. He’s a well known LLMD who has also treated COVID and COVID long hauler patients successfully.

Edit: I just realized that was not clear. I read the link yesterday, which also had a link to his website and COVID information, which should help you. Here’s the information I was attempting to point out: https://cangetbetter.com/covid/

there is a lot of similarity between the symptoms of chronic Lyme and long covid - both seem to have elements of auto-immunity and immune dysfunction with ongoing inflammation.

there is a post here recently where we are discussing this and a paper pointing towards which proteins may be present in both the COVID virus and Human tissues together with triggering factors that might be the cause of this - i will find the link and post it below

this is the discussion I had in mind - not a direct answer to your question - but may be of interest to you and your MD

also, recommend watching the slightly quirky videos of Dr Mobeen on Youtube
- esp those on the mechanisms of action of Ivermectin when used as an immunomodulator

Thank you to those who responded. I also was diagnosed with costrocondritis and no treatment provided and its a chronic condition. I sustained a concussion and then had corona in March of 2021. Thus far all blood work is normal except for an AIC of 5.8 (pre-diabetes) and the antibodies for Lymes. Since having corona and also a concussion, I suffered initially for 6 months with a host of symptoms being affected. I had swollen ankles that remain until today; chronic memory issues, fatigue and migraines; mitral valve prolapse that went from non regurgitation pre corona to slight regurgitation; chronic cough and pain in my chest from costrocondritis; some stomach issues but had IBS from before; lung nodules with scarring from corona; thyroid nodules; bruising on arms and legs that goes away and comes back; pre-diabetes (insulin resistant); and prior Lymes positive testing and current negative for Lymes but 2 antibodies present for 1gGP23ab and 1gGP41ab. I remain a case study for the medical community. I am being treated by a DO for my migraines and head concussion with a regiment of vitamins that seems to help with higher levels of vitamin D2, magnesium, vitamin B2 andB50 and coq 10. The medical community is resistent to try low level steroids but I think they may help as there seems to be chronic inflammation that does not reflect on any blood work. All ANA and CR proteins are normal.

Most consider steroids to be contraindicated in anyone with Lyme/co. I understand you had Lyme and were treated in the past. However, most LLMD’s believe the bacteria is never completely eradicated. Thus, taking steroids to suppress the immune system could give the infections the opportunity to resurge. Those with Lyme often harbor many opportunistic pathogens.

I highly recommend you see Dr. H or someone similar.

i echo what WBF says above

Be aware that there is no test that can reliably demonstrate borrelia are no longer present. Despite what many doctors say.

note 20% of people infected - never make any detectable antibodies at all - and those that do will often cycle through times of producing different antibodies at different times due to the organisms ability to change the antigens it presents on its outer surface - in its attempts to confuse and evade the human immune system.
For this reason, all serology tests suffer poor sensitivity and produce many false negatives.

in addition, many doctors and labs insist on using the CDC surveillance criteria from its epidemiology side as clinical criteria for patient care - which is just plain broken thinking.

your symptoms may not be lyme - but most if not all of those you list are very much in the common Lyme symptoms category - especially Costochondritis - which is a typical Lyme symptom in chronic Lyme.

Dr H would be an excellent choice

good luck with your journey

BUngar,

If you are open to using herbal medicine, Stephen Buhner has extensive protocols for both COPD and COVID. There’s information about what to do for lung scarring/interstitial pulmonary fibrosis in the COPD links.

You can find all that here under the herbs section. There are two links for COPD and several updated links for coronavirus.
https://www.stephenharrodbuhner.com/articles/

I still would recommend seeing or at least calling Dr H’s office.

Edit:
I just wanted to say that it’s good that you posted here looking for information. While no one knows everything about this virus or the lasting effects on the body, I can assure you that the conventional medical arena is not going to learn or do what LLMD’s or others outside that arena will. The sooner you can reverse this, the better off you’ll be. Waiting around for conventional medicine would not be beneficial, IMO.

Even if you don’t want to take herbs, if you have any inclination to learn things for yourself, I highly recommend you read Buhner’s protocols for COPD and coronavirus. You will probably learn far more than any doctor you see will ever care to know.

I recently had a ct scan which says that I have two 3mm nodules on my right lower lung. Would this be from covid? I had covid March 2021.

MCass,

Wow! Sorry to hear that. I just did a web search and found numerous references, so Yes, it could be from COVID.

I’m worried that it could be something worse of course. But the report said that no further testing is needed since I’m not a current smoker. But I used to smoke so I’m worried. But I’m also wondering if it could happen from covid.. thanks
