I recall reading that Justin had Lyme disease a few years ago.
He talked about it on the “Ellen” show.

Well now he said he has Ramsay Hunt syndrome causing facial paralysis on one side of his face.

Hmmmm.. are you thinking what I’m thinking?
Bells Palsy is an early symptom of lyme

yep - v suspect - though generally these types of cranial nerve radiculitis type things happen most often in the early stages - i think it must be possible for them to happen at any time

i have had one of these nerves suddenly give trouble 7 years in ( not the cranial nerve that exit a fraction higher up but the nerve that feeds the arm that exists the spin a vertebra or so lower down) which is the same basic mechanism

i have a friend who had a facial palsy aged 19 and has had rheumatic type problems continuously since he was around 30 - who had covid right at the beginning of the pandemic and now has "long covid" pretty severely - which includes bouts of overwhelming fatigue, brain fog, joint pain, joint swelling, headaches etc - so i think Lyme is high up on the suspicion list there

i also have a niece who has had 2 facial palsies - 1st one side then the other ( v v unusual ) - and been diagnosed with EDS, as well as NF1 and has a damaged kidney causing massive blood pressure - which made me wonder if a TBD/ Lyme could be involved

makes you wonder just how prevalent this stuff is ... official data for the UK is just a few cases per 100,000 - but that is 5-10x less than the official figures for Europe - and i see no justification for that difference in terms of climate or flora or fauna - eg vs Germany or France - and even those countries data is v patchy and suspect as policies on diagnosis and reporting differ so dramatically from region to region - and by contrast latest estimates for USA are well over 100 per 100,000

I didn’t know what this was, so I looked it up. According to Mayo, Ramsay Hunt is caused by the shingles virus. I didn’t see the article mention any other causes. I had shingles twice after getting full blown sick with Lyme/co and mold.

And Michael J. Fox was bitten by multiple ticks during the filming of one of his movies. A lot of people on the crew were bitten actually.

Since his Parkinson’s disease?

I’ve always suspected MJ Fox could have Lyme

In the 90s. A couple years before his "Parkinson" symptoms appeared.

Edit:

The 35 year old actor kept up his hectic daily grind, but he did postpone an appearance on David Letterman's Late Show. When he finally did appear on the CBS talkfest, he revealed to Letterman: "I got a dose of the Lyme. You feel like crap."

"l got bit by a tick," he confessed. "They're really tiny."

"Then what happens is you get this little red mark. You think it's a rash or you think it's some bad thing, but it's a tick bite."

"Then you are doomed because it's already too late."

Fox, who married to Tracy Pollan and has three kids, 7 year old Sam and 2 year old twins Aquinnah and Schuyler, was put on antibiotics for three weeks -- the standard treatment for Lyme disease -- but docs warn there could be lingering problems.

This forum is where I found out. :p

I remember him saying he had it also. According to this

https://www.lymedisease.org/justin-bieber-video-lyme-disease/

he was treated for it. I would think they would reconsider lyme as a cause.

Frank Hawking, Stephan's father

This interest in how to kill parasites led him directly to studies on their biology and biochemistry, and to around 150 publications on protozoan and helminth parasites. Some of his most interesting work related to the periodicity shown by blood microfilaria, and he spent a great deal of effort in determining what cues from the host were telling the parasites when best to enter the peripheral circulation in order to meet their vectors.

Justin was looking emaciated a few years back, clearly dealing with drug addiction issues

So we have

Lyme + Herpes Zoster + party lifestyle + drug addiction

All that is going to devastate your immune system. He has likely wrecked his health and needs to take a nice long vacation from work of several years where he just rests and heals.

Lapis: “ clearly dealing with drug addiction issues “

I didn’t know that. You read it in the tabloids?

Good grief!! What a statement. I am not a Bieber (or any other celebrity fan), but that’s pretty shoddy to say something like that. Is drug addiction the only cause for weight lose? Many of us here have experienced drastic, unexplained weight loss at times because of Lyme, often while yet undiagnosed. Are we “clearly dealing with drug addiction issues”?

When this post about Ramsay Hunt came up, I searched the internet and saw a couple of the reports, which I can’t find right now, because only the most recent stories are popping up. In one of them, either Beiber or his wife mentioned the stress they went through when he was sick with Lyme and EBV and seeking diagnosis and treatment and how people thought he was on drugs when in actuality he was suffering from Lyme.
