What makes Florastor superior to any other sacc supplement? Or maybe it isn't superior?

I ask because I see it recommended A LOT.

I don’t know the answer to your question but this post will bump the thread to the top for more views.

Early in my treatment I used Floristor to help control some severe diarrhea. It works the best for this treatment.
Later I would use a cheaper generic sacc b for maintenance and rotate with my normal probiotics.

Hope this helps

Just remember some people (limited) can get Sacc. B. overgrowth from it.......kinda like candida overgrowth. Has happened to a couple people here in the past. So just pay attention to what you gut feels like when using it.

I had to use LVS-3 bacteria probiotic. Even though its not RX,...it can be and then might be covered by ins or maybe discounted by Good RX then if in the USA. (its expensive).

I don't think it's better. It's just a well known brand.

I agree it is just a brand name. I have never noticed a difference with a few other Sacc. Boulardi. I buy the 10B from Renew Life lately and it works great.

My doc prescribed Orthomolecular brand Saccharomyces boulardii for me. I have used Florastor at times after running out and waiting on a shipment. One thing I noticed is a huge difference in the dosage. One capsule of Orthomolecular has 420 mg (5 billion CFU). Two capsules of Florastor has 500 mg (does not give CFU’s). Orthomolecular is more for the money.

I have always thought it was pricey but it was on sale at vitacost. It has a different strain than ones that I have used for years (cncm i-745 instead of dbvpg 6763) so I decided to give it a try. I will probably notice nothing.
