Hi. My son has had chronic migraines for 8 years. They seem to be triggered by any slight weather change and are much worse in the sping and fall and often during the winter months. The summers are usually pretty good for him. He's tried almost every preventative there is and some combinations of things without much relief. He just started Lycria yesterday. I know that takes time to help. He started getting migraines when he was 6 and fell while playing.

Hello Mom1029,

Welcome to HealingWell.  Many people with migraines have tons of tests done that show no physical reason for the pain, doctors at headache clinics should know that.  If you don't mind me asking, what headache clinic were you taking your son to?  What type of pain does your son have (i.e. stabbing, throbbing, dull, etc...) and where is it located at?  Has he had any allergy tests done?

I never wished pain on anyone until I started getting migraines and had to deal with so many doctors that didn't understand or care.  Now I almost wish that every doctor had at least one migraine so they could be more compassionate and understanding when they get a migraine patient.

Best wishes to you and your son,

~Liz

I don't have much helpful to add but I'm glad for your son that the summer is not far away.

hmm, mine are the WORST during the summer, or any time I get too hot... but who knows I also get them from any weather changes, and stress, or seemingly no reason at all (and usually are throbbing, but sometimes stabbing... but I'm just weird)! I hope he finds something that helps him... I really do.
