Hi everyone,

This is my first time posting here. I am generally on the fibro board, but now I get to add migraines to the mix *yay*. Ok so here it goes. I have had this headache for about 5 weeks now, It seems to hurt the most across my eyebrows and in the back of my head. I cannot handle light or noise or really much of anything. I feel dizzy, and sick to my stomach to the point of vomiting. I am having visual disturbances (everything is turning different shades of green or blurry). I have had normal MRI results and CT scan. My neurologist put me on topamax which I absolutely hate. It does nothing for my headache and I have a hard time eating when I am on it. I have been on it for 3 weeks. I have also tried 4 different triptans (I think they are called) with no relief. My neruologist just wants to keep on going with the trying more triptans, but I am sick of the pain and have been doubling my fibro pain meds in an attempt to get some relief from my migraine. The neurologist says I also have cervical dystonia. I can barely turn my head most days. I need relief, this is getting unbareable. I wrecked my car two days ago on the way to the neurologist (irony at it's best), and am now unable to get to the doctor so I have to figure it out on my own for a few days. Any suggestions would be helpful. What has worked for you guys? Anyone have a similar experience? What do you do when triptans don't work? At this point I would try anything such as lathering my head in toothpaste if you guys were to tell me it would help, that is how desperate I am.

Thanks,

Stephanie

Hi Stephanie
Sorry to hear whats going on with you, stay connected with this forum, lots of good advice here. My son suffers with daily migraine pain now for 8 years. The new dr. has him coming off all pain patches and morphine just wants him on topamax, some times too much pain meds can be worse than the migraine itself because of the rebound affect. As far as eating my son eats small amounts several times a day to keep from vomiting. Don't give up on the topamax some dr's say it takes time to work into your system. What do you take for the fibro pain meds? Sorry to hear about your car, is it being repaired, you need transportation!!!! Did this migraine pain just start or have you had migraines prior to this. Wishing you relief as I do my son every day. Let us hear from you....mommb
