I went to my neuro yesterday and he started me on a new migraine med Treximet.  Also prescribed Lyica as a migraine prevenitive 50mg 2 times aday.  Has anyone heard of Treximet? Doc said its a combo of imetrex and advil..I tried topamax as a prevenitive med and the side effects were horrible, horrible!! I would never take it again!!  I get migraines anywheres from 2-4 weekly.. I just took my first Lyrica, within 30 min. I had to stop reading and get to the fridge as fast as I could, lol!! It made me so hungry, I ate so feel better now...anyways anyone with info on Treximet or Lyrica please let me know.

My Neurologist also gave me Treximet for my Migrane's...Thankfully she gave me 2 sample pills b/c later that night I got my 3rd Migrane in 2 months...I took the Treximet and within 5 minutes the pain was going away but some of the side effects were showing their ugly head but the side effects were too bad.  Once I laid down most of them went away.  Sleep was nice!  :-)

I take Treximet for my migraines which can be daily - the only side effect I get can be the tiredness. My nuero said Treximet is newer it's the combo of Imitrex & Naproxen he said he's had alot of patients like it. When I first started it I did get a little tingle in my face but I get that with other triptans as well. My preventative is zonegran it takes my appitite away good thing at first but doesn't last- dang! Good Luck finding your combo! we all have are own and the choices seem overwhelming at times.

I love love love Treximet.  I have been on anything from anti seizure medication to topamax, maxault, imetrex, naproxen, depacote, etc.  I had a constant dibilitating migraine for over a month and once I took the treximet it went away.  The only thing is, is that my insurance does not cover this medication!!

I've been going through the worst migraines for the past 3 years, I have been past from doctor to doctor because nothing works on my migraines,I've had MRI's, EEG's, test, after test after test, I've been on Trimethobenzamide, nadoolol, Keppra,Depakote, Lyrica, Propranolol, Nortriptyline, Topamax, blood pressure meds like Verapamil etc, I'm now on 1200mg of Neurontin daily, and Vivactil daily, I've gone with rescue meds like maxalt, Imitrex, Fioricet, Codeine, Hydrocodone, stadole, hydroxyzine, prochlorperazine, ketoprofen with metoclopramide, a muscle relaxer called carisoprodol, and I take Ambien CR just to sleep. With all these meds not working on my migraines, would anyone consider recommending TREXIMET? I get sever migraines about 4-5 times a week, if anyone is like this and has tried the new Treximet and it worked I would love to hear from them! My thoughts are it can't hurt to try, but are the side effect really bad, thats what I worry about. I've had some really BAD reaction to some of the meds the doctors have recommended, Topamax was bad, Imitrex,Zomig, and Migranal all tightened my chest and it hurt really bad. I've even tried the Dihydroergotamine shots in my thighs which left me limping for atleast one day because it hurt so bad. Keppra and Depakote gave me nightmares of my past, like I was there all over again, so detailed. Scarey! If anyone recommends this med I would love to read some feedback. Thank you.

Hi there, can someone tell me if treximet can be mixed with fioricet? My mother has been taking treximet for headaches, notriptyline at night. Yesterday the doctor gave her Imitrax just to try and her blood pressure went sky high. With treximet it is much better, but the doctor also prescribed her Fioricet. Can Fioricet be mixed with Treximet?

Fioricet contains Acetometaphin (Tylenol) , caffiene, and an anxiety med....i wouldnt take them both together at the same time but having both prescriptions i dont see the harm. i use to take them, and took imitrex and my topamax as well and was fine. but you can always call the pharmacy and they can tell you more.
