Hello, all. My name is Ginny and this is my first post. I went to the eye dr. today for a spot that I have had in my left eye for a week now. It is grey and has flashing lights inside of it...rather small. He did a bunch of tests and says vision looks fine.

After doing research, talking to him, and learning that family members suffer from migraines, it seems I have fouund my diagnosis but my question is this....

Is it at all possible in any way whatsoever to have an aura that can last an entire week or longer?

Thank you in advance for any encouraging words. I'm having trouble finding info on this, for most say it lasts only minutes to hours or off and on...but never straight through. Eye dr. said not common, but not totally impossible but when he said it he sounded like he was not sure or had heard of it, but that "anything is possible".

I would like to know if anyone has had first hand experience with this.

Thanks!

(btw, I suffer from anxiety, so your responses would be greatly appreciated..especially the ones that agree that it can happen..lol)

Just doing a quick look, it does appear that this certainly is possible, there are references to it on line. I have never had one last that long, nor do I know of anyone who has had one; if it were me, I would certainly follow-up with your migraine specialist about it.
