Hi I live in the Uk and have been living through hell since the 14 July with my husband's FHM migraine. I am wondering if anyone has had speech, cognitive and memory problems that have lasted as long as my husbands? He is finding it difficult to remember things and cannot, for example, work the computer which is something he did every day before the migraine. Would appreciate it if anyone diagnosed wth FHM migraine, and can relate to this, would reply......

Cheers

Hi,

My daughter has hemiplegic migraines or "complicated \"and started at age 12 1/2.  She had an episode this summer and seemed to have prolonged aura for two weeks after. ( Just a bit slow in thinking.. Words coming out wrong)  We went to her neurologist and went through all the tests- MRI/MRA, EEG, blood work, etc.  Everything was normal.  From reading about other's experiences, I believe this can be the case sometimes.  She has completely returned to normal and is doing well.

Hope this helps!

Dear Nobby and Annie, I think any discussion helps. Some of the literature I have read seems to inticate that children with these migraines may out grow them, so good luck to your daughter. But Nobby, I feel like your husband. I can type and think at the moment, but tomorrow who knows. I have great family, friends, and faith otherwise I think this would be pretty tough. I am learning to get along although for the first six months I hid out at home. Now I go out sometimes with family and friends as support. Lots of luck, stay in tougch, Hugs Bongo
